Dean has been working in the Chelsea NY area of NYC for many years as a repair tech and in-demand custom guitar builder/Luthier. The building this guitars body is built from has more historic significance than we can fit into this description. So for starters, The Chelsea Hotel was built between 1883 and 1885 and opened to the public in 1885. When first built it was the tallest building in NYC. Many of the world's most famous celebrities and musicians from the likes of Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Andy Warhol and Mark Twain, just to name a few have resided there over the course of their careers. As of August 1, 2011, the Chelsea hotel has stopped taking reservations in order to begin renovations. Dean has been able to get some incredible pieces of this historic buildings White Pine, in order to build these very special new guitars. This LTD Edition Chelsea Jazzmaster "Color Series" in particular has an extremely resonant and woody voice, full of tonal complexities hard to find in a brand new guitar. It also plays with ease and is a nice balanced weight of 7lbs 5.2oz.
The body of this particular instrument is built from a 2 piece floorboard from the Chelsea Hotel (reclaimed White Pine) The colors on the body are all original to the Hotel, from a spray painted piece, possibly to caution workers. The neck is Michigan Silver Maple, dyed the same colors as the body. The body has the original Shellac Patina finish, while the neck is finished in Nitro. The pickups in this instrument are Mcnelly Stagger Swaggers. A great sounding Humbucker with tons of clarity and crisp highs and a balanced low-end. If your looking for a unique Offset, with loads of mojo, character and originality; this may just be your ticket. The company got their start from Ted Newman Jones who was a pioneer of design and guitar building techniques. He began building guitars for Keith Richards in 1971. Ted and Keith designed the first five string open "G" guitar during the 1972 Rolling Stones U.S. Tour for Exile on Mainstreet. Ted built guitars and worked for Keith Richards exclusively from 1972 to 1978. While working for Keith, Ted came up with the distinctive body and headstock shape which have renowned throughout the world. Ted showed interest in setting up shop in Austin, TX. When Ted left Keith as his guitar tech/builder to establish the shop on 4th Street in downtown Austin, Keith was gracious and funded the start up of Ted's first shop.

At his Austin shop, he built guitars for Keith Richards, Ron Wood, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, James Honeyman-Scott, Willie Nelson, Billy Gibbons, George Jones, Lucinda Williams, Jesse Taylor, Rick Richards and a long list of others. He catered to the special needs of the artist and knew the importance of the musician to be inspired by his instrument. Teds' balanced body style and unique Asymmetrical "V" neck carve have made Newman Guitars legendary. In recent years, Jeff Smith worked to bring Newman Guitars into modern times with more refined building methods to insure consistent quality and customization options for the professional musician. By 1978, the body shape and design elements were complete. The Newman Body Design is timeless and modern 40 + years later. Fully Hollow & Carved 2021 / NEW (Authorized Dealer)
Another immaculate piece by famed NY Luthier Joseph Jesselli. As many know, Joe Jesselli was the only in house apprentice for the legendary Archtop builder Jimmy D’Aquisto. He worked closely with D’Aquisto for the last ten years of Jimmy’s career. We believe Joe has surpassed even those historic guitars; with his unique, masterful and one of a kind style in the Luther built guitar world. This is the latest instrument by this legendary guitar builder. It's a unique twist on his most popular body shape the Modernaire, while being slightly deeper and having a three piece Maple top; which we'll get further into.

The guitar features many appointments, unique to Joe Jesselli's guitars; such as stepped binding, leather pickup covers, silicon bronze frets and an angled ivory nut with zero fret (aka fret-nut). Everything on this guitar has been hand fabricated by Joseph Jesselli in his Long Island NY workshop. The only exceptions being the tuners, which have custom in-house made tuner buttons and pickups; which are an original Jesselli design and are hand-wound to Joe’s specs by Pete Biltoft of Vintage Vibe Guitars. The pickup covers and rings are fully handmade by Joe Jesselli.

This is a one of a kind model dubbed the "Three Piece Special". It has a slightly more Art Nouveau styling than the more Deco Modernaire model. This model is fully hollow and consists of a highly figured Rock Maple body, which has been stunningly carved and tap tuned to perfection. The three piece top consists of two thinner pieces of 1/4" Sawn Rock Maple on the sides for maximum resonance and a thicker middle section which provides incredible sustain and acoustic projection. The handmade Macassar Ebony bridge with Ivory saddles is fully intonated and goes directly into the body, rather than having a base-plate, further adding to the translation of vibrations to the top and increasing sustain. The tailpiece is bead-blasted brass, with an intricate engraved design and two sides of Macassar Ebony. You'll find many beautiful, masterfully executed details, curves, handmade parts and lines throughout this guitar, the more time you spend with it. It's truly a masterpiece. The knobs are also Macassar Ebony with ivory inlays and the toggle switch tip is an exquisitely carved piece of ivory.

This Jesselli has a lot of Joe's newest innovations, such as a Rock Maple neck with his unique truss-rod design that moves the neck in the most precise way, allowing the guitar to play with action that is only 2 1/2 and 3 64th" at the 12th fret E to E. Most guitars are around 4 64ths at the 12th fret E to E. The nut is curved with a zero fret design, making the action low and supple to play in all positions. You also don't have to fear over playing a fret, thus going sharp, like with many standard nut designs. The guitar is just so easy to play. Another innovation is the Stepped-Binding. This is a Joe Jesselli only design. As with everything on this instrument, this is a very labor intensive method. The nut width is 1 11/16". On most instruments you lose about an 8th of an inch on both sides of the board, due to having to round the edges of the frets. Jesselli's frets are able to be played the entire width of the board and then his proprietary stepped binding is added to the sides to widen the feel just a hair, for an extremely comfortable playing experience. (See detailed shots) Another new feature on this one of a kind guitar are the hand-carved "thumb locks". You can see these on the back of the headstock and at the heel of the guitar. When playing in first position your thumb locks in right behind the headstock, while playing towards the higher registers of the neck, your thumb locks into the heel, for easy access to the entire board with extra support. It also just looks unbelievable. The heel inlay is made of ivory and buffalo horn. The truss-rod cover is made of whatussi horn and buffalo horn. The custom strap pin surrounds are made of ivory and Macassar Ebony. The guitar comes with a handmade Jesselli leather strap, that matches the leather pickup covers.

We love the look of the pickup covers and rings on this Jesselli. The covers are made of English Kip leather stained a beautiful light-brown hue, while the rings are made of Italian tortoise celluloid. They are hand beveled and pop against the lively amber Maple top. All adjustment screws on the guitar are hex screws, giving a classy appearance throughout. A set of tools to adjust the screws are in the case. This is only the second Jesselli to feature his new 4 plus 2 headstock design. The first being a solid-body that we sold in 2020.

Now to talk the tone of this rare heirloom quality guitar. The pickups on all brand new Jesselli's are wound to Joe's stringent specs, by renowned pickup winder Pete Biltoft of Vintage Vibe Guitars. These pickups are Jesselli's high fidelity, low-noise, Alnico 5 rod magnet Single Coils. They are matched to the acoustic tone of the instrument. Mini-Hums sounded to dark, as we tried multiple sets before Joe decided to have this set wound to the instruments specific tonal properties. The guitar acoustically rings with piano-like sustain and harmonics that leap out at you, you’ll also notice ghostly artifacts behind each note, that we’ve yet to experience with any other luthier’s instruments. All of the acoustic properties get translated to it’s electric voice in spades. (see demos. The overdriven clip is on our YouTube channel) These are unlike most Single Coil pickups out there. They are attached to a 6-way switch and push-pull pot. The first three positions utilize 42 gauge wire and A5 magnets, giving a fat, lively and crystalline Alnico P-90 type of tone, with beautiful cleans; however they could push a tube amp into saturation easily if so desired. When on the other side of the 6-way toggle; thinner 44 gauge wire (like a Dearmond Dynasonic) is introduced to the pickup; now incorperating both 42 and 44 gauge wire, for a warmer more mellow tone, suitable for Jazz playing and solo performances. The tone control is a very useable low pass filter all the way down to zero on the dial. When pulled upward it is a passive mid-cut circuit; which puts more emphasis on the bass frequencies.

All in all, if you are looking for a guitar from this legendary Master Luthier, don't pass this one up. Only a few Jesselli's are built a year, due to the high-level of attention to detail, fully handmade construction and highly intensive, uncompromised old-world build-quality. You can't go wrong with any new Jesselli, however from experience we can say with certainty, that this one has that extra bit of "IT". (Last photo is of Joe Jesselli with this guitar)

See our YouTube channel for clean and overdriven demo clips and feel free to call with any questions.. 631-482-3313 Serious offers will be considered. Grez Guitars are a unique blend of high quality, old world craftsmanship and forward thinking design.

The idea behind the Mendocino was to build a super light weight (in this case 5lbs 4oz) and compact, highly chambered Semi-Hollow body guitar, that sounds like a mix between a full-size Semi-Hollow guitar and an Archtop.
This particular very customized and classy example, features a highly figured Old-Growth Redwood Burl top, tortoise top and back body binding and 3-ply white/black/white purfling.
Nothing sounds quite like the mellow yet ultra lively shimmer, you get from old-growth Redwood. This Mirus model features Deans signature high-grade Aircraft aluminum lower bout, which doubles as the perfect cutaway. Playing past the 12th fret and beyond has never been easier. This particular instrument is inanely resonant and loud unplugged which is always a great sign of how the guitar will respond through an amplifier. This instrument also has a ton of spank and a quick attack, not typically associated with an all Mahogany body and neck guitar.

The word Mirus in itself embodies this design perfectly, as it's adjectives are wonderful, strange, remarkable, amazing, surprising and extraordinary. This guitar is certainly all of those things and more. This Mirus in particular features a magnificently carved back with a 6 screw bolt on neck. You won't be getting any play or unwanted movement from this guitars neck joint. The bridge is also a great piece of engineering by Schaller called the Hannes Bridge.
This is what Schaller says about this bridge:

"Our Schaller Hannes® bridge can be fitted to any guitar, provided that the body is flat at the point where the bridge is to be placed. The pickups can be earthed via the string anchor plate if necessary.
The saddles were developed in close collaboration with Graph Tech. They are made of a special compound material. Teflon is one of the materials used in this special compound. In being a highly effective lubricant material (one of the most effective in the world), it dramatically reduces saddle-related string breakage, since no sharp edges can form on the saddles due to wear.
This patented saddle material measurably increases the instrument's sustain by up to 25% compared to brass and steel. Your guitar will sound much more harmonious. This is characterized by singing high notes and quick response, not to mention a well-defined, powerful and even tone. The saddles have a large surface area resting on the guitar's body, and are separated from one another by the bridge's construction. This physical difference in the saddle, compared to all other available saddles on the market manifests itself in a significant increase in dynamic response that can be heard and felt."
This Mirus has two McNelly Autumn Humbuckers which are a med-low output set with awesome clarity. These pickups have a pronounced top-end and a soring, strong midrange with a nice bass response that never gets muddy. The pickup's covers are made of Mahogany, consistent with the rest of the guitars earthy, natural vibe.

The entire guitar weighs in at only 6lbs 12.5oz. The Style One carbon fiber guitar is limited to 100 pieces. AVA builds his instruments completely out of Carbon Fiber, no wood is used. While this is not a traditional way of building an electric guitar; the tone and feel of his instruments speak for themselves. These are very lively, resonant instruments played acoustically. When plugged in you'll notice a quick attack when picking each note (similar to a 1-piece maple neck) these instrument also have wonderful sustain.

The AVA One has a very modern esthetic and feel to it. The guitar melds into your body in a fluent and comfortable way. You have easy access to the upper registers of the fingerboard, with the cutaway and beveled back design. The fretwork is clean with the fret slots cut to size, so that the tangs of the frets don't stick out. The fret markers and side markers are made from one line of MOP; giving them a modern, minimalistic look. The Richlite fingerboard has a non sticky feel, which goes along well with the rest of this environmentally conscience design. A major upside to the carbon fiber construction, is that you do not have to keep these guitars in a properly humidified room; as the material will never begin to warp like wood does. A great guitar to gig and tour with. All plates and other carbon fiber parts are made in house by AVA. The Deimel Firestar has been built as a new classic tool for creative and modern guitar music. A lot of people nowadays like the so-called »offset waist guitars« for their beautiful and ergonomic shape. As there are only a few well known designs Frank has developed his own offset waist body shape, called the Firestar.

The idea to literally make use of historic, classic guitar designs and build up a new design, is a process we don’t call hybrid, we would rather name it evolution. But indeed, ingredients of already existing perfect ideas, have been recombined here in our own unique design. There are many design features already so good, that there is no need to reinvent the wheel. But sometimes, you find great features in one guitar, but it misses great features from other guitars. Therefore, »best of both worlds« stands for uniting best qualities in order to come to another higher overall quality of the guitar. Our result is the Deimel Firestar guitar."

Description:

This Firestar Ellipse by German Luthier duo Frank Deimel & Kora Junger is a gem of a guitar. The Firestar may be the perfect offset design for the modern, forward thinking musician; both in it's standard configuration as well as fully customized iterations. This guitar's specs fall somewhere in-between the two.

The Firestar Ellipse is a variation of the Firestar which incorporates a Deimel-built and designed vibrato called the Vibratone. It has 3 Brass Tele style saddles and is setup to float with three springs, for a responsive feel. Open strings can pull up as much as a minor third. The unit has spot on intonation and stays in tune beautifully.

The guitar is perfectly balanced and utilizes great hardware and electronics that eliminate all of the ailments of past Offset designs. Deimel has certainly gotten it right with this model. Upon picking this guitar up, you know you have something special and of superior quality in your hands. These guitars just feel so substantial, like every aspect has been thought out thoroughly, then perfectly executed.

Starting with the unique finish on this Firestar. The body has a Venus Fern Green Metallic open grain matte finish. You can only see the fine metallic flakes in certain lighting; giving the guitar a mesmerizing appearance on stage. Since the body is built from Swamp Ash, you can see lots of interesting lines from the natural texture of the wood. This guitar is as much of a joy to look at as it is to feel and play. The finish is as light as it gets, to allow the guitar to breathe and resonate freely.

This Firestar is very balanced seated or standing with a loud acoustic foundation. The feel of the neck carve and quality of the fretwork is immediately noticeable. The tangs of the frets are seated perfectly and the instrument plays with a comfortable low action of 3 & 4 64ths of an inch at the 12th fret E to E.

There are three slide switches aside from the main three way toggle switch, which add even more versatility to the guitars tonal palate. From left to right we have a Piezo/acoustic pickup on/off switch, giving the player the option to make the guitar sound more like an archtop, resonator or acoustic. It also allows for unusual tricks like rhythmic tapping on the body or neck and scratching at the vibrato springs. As you lower the volume control, the piezo pickup becomes more pronounced. It can also be used alone if you are in the bridge position on the 3-way toggle; as the middle switch is a Series / Parallel switch for the middle position of the magnetic pickups (also works when in the neck position alone) When this mini switch is in the up position, only the middle & neck positions of the pickup selector toggle switch work. So you can use it as a Kill Switch when on the bridge pickup, or as a way to get the Piezo/acoustic pickup tone alone. The Series/Para switch changes the middle position from the traditional middle position “parallel” tone, to having the two pickups wired in series for a fatter, hotter tone. The third switch is a HPF (high pass filter) sending the lows to ground for a brighter sound that cuts through the mix.

These Fralin Alnico P-90’s are hum-canceling dual-coil pickups with all of the clarity of a true single-coil Alnico rod magnet P-90. The guitar comes in its new and original Hiscox Hard Shell Case with a hand signed COA and a photo of the control layout.

Model: Firestar Custom Ellipse
Body wood 1: One piece swamp ash
Neck: Figured maple w/ Thermo treatment
Fingerboard: Ziricote
Finish: Transparent laquer, matte open pore satin body w/ satin neck
Inlays: Green Abalone
Frets: 21 Wagner Medium Jumbo
Nut: Synthetic bone
Scale 25.5“ with compound radius 9.5“ to 12“
Medium fat 59 JM (Med-Large C) .86”-.98”
Black fiber with MOP logo,
Hipshot classic open gear, nickel butter beans
Body color: Venus Fern Green metallic matte, open grain
Pickguard: Edelstahl colored anodized aluminium guard & back plates (like anodized silver w/ a beige tint)
Pickups: Lindy Fralin hum cancelling alnico rod P90 w/ silver nickel covers
Built in piezo
Additional shielding of electric department
Vibrato: Deimel Vibratone
Electronics: 3-way toggle for pickup selection, 3 slider switches: piezo on/off, series/parallel, surf switch (aka HPF)
2 x Glendale dome knobs for volume + tone
Case: Hiscox with Deimel logo
Weight 7lbs 3.4
This is a brand new Kauer Guitars Super Chief with a beautifully figured Birdseye Maple top and back. The sides and neck are built from Spanish Mahogany. This guitar is certainly the lightest and most balanced SC we've had the opportunity to play, weighing in at only 6lbs 14oz.

The guitar is bound in white from top to bottom including the insides of the sound holes, With the 1-ply faux tortoise guard you end up with a super classy and clean looking guitar. The back of this instrument is possibly our favorite part esthetically. It's subdued overall, besides for the Birdseye figuring which shows some truly unique grain lines that weave in and out of each other. If you love nice timbre like we do; it's a sight to see, especially in person. The back of the body also reveals the heel cutaway and headstock volute, showing Kauer's dedication to each little detail of this build. Guitars inherently vibrate the most at the headstock, being that it's the thinnest part of the guitar. This eats up lots of vibrational energy, that should be going to the top/sound board. With a volute you add mass to the headstock, letting the soundboard take in most of that energy each time you pluck a string or strum a chord.

The overall tone from this Super Chief is big and punchy with a bit of airiness to each note, due to the semi-hollow construction. This evens out all of the frequencies nicely. Think a Gretsch 6120 with P-90's and a thinner, smaller body; built with modern playability and optimal construction in mind. Played clean or overdriven, there is not much left to be desired. This guitar will suit a wide variety of playing styles. From guitarists who are playing clean fingerpicked passages, all the way up to high-energy Rockabilly and Rock and Roll styles. This Super Chief never feeds back in unwanted ways, yet with a healthy amount of distortion the guitar will give you some very musical and controllable feedback. If you are looking for a brand new headless guitar, this Sahara Plus could not be recommended more highly!

Gene Baker at b3 guitars has built quite the name for himself as a world renowned guitar builder; working with many of the worlds finest luthiers and guitar companies around. He's been the head Master Builder at the Fender Custom Shop, was a builder at the Gibson Custom Shop and built many instruments under the Premier Builders Guild, for names such as Koll, Fano, Gustavsson, Giffin and Schroeder. To say he has been prolific in the world of high end guitars would be an understatement.

Now with his focus on his own line of fully hand built b3's and no longer building for other brands, Gene is a force to be reckoned with. The attention to detail on each new b3 we've had in, is second to none. These are immaculate guitars that bring something new and honest to the table.

The Sahara Plus 6 String with a hollow body is a rare b3 model that Gene loves to build given the opportunity.

This one comes outfitted with a lightweight hollow body, designed to not feedback like most hollow bodies do. The entire guitar weighs in at just 6lbs 4oz. The top is carved from Flame Maple and dyed a Charcoal tint. The back and sides are made of Mahogany. This is a very lightweight and well balanced instrument to say the least. The playability is effortless with a low and slinky action. Each note you play blooms through your amp like an acoustic instrument as if it were breathing.

The neck profile has a very modern feel to it, as it is a slightly asymmetrical C Carve; so that it fits your hand like a glove. This is not a heavy asymmetrical carve. It is all about comfort. Without telling people the neck profile on this instrument; they would likely just think its a comfortable and fast Modern Medium C shape.

The headless design, takes away the biggest issue that all non-headless guitar designs have. The headstock on a typical guitar is the part of an instrument that vibrates the most, due to it being the thinnest piece of wood on the entire guitar. This eats up tons of resonance and energy, causing the top of the guitar not to vibrate at it's fullest. With headless guitars all of the energy gets distributed evenly and the top vibrates as it should.

The Lollar Imperial Humbucking pickups in this guitar are very lively and inviting. You will be shocked by the clarity and touch sensitivity that they provide, both clean or dirty. In this instrument they are the perfect match.

The Sophia Tremolo System is also a delight. Besides for it looking like a very high-end and well built trem unit, it can do just about anything you want it to. Right now it is setup to float/pull back, but it can be adjusted for either further pull-back or none at all if you prefer. Guitar World Magazine says this about it:

"The Sophia tremolo’s design is such a vast improvement over previous systems that it’s an understatement to call it the most significant tremolo system upgrade introduced since the Floyd Rose." -Guitar World.

This is a special headless guitar. We've been awestruck by Stephens work in the past, but we were in disbelief once again when this beauty showed up.

Stephen never seems to stop innovating. He pores his heart and soul; as well as a mass of knowledge and skill from a lifetime of lutherie into each of his creations. If there were ever a luthier at the top of his game, it would have to be Stephen Marchione.

This 59 Burst is one of those instruments that is indescribable by mere words. It needs to be experienced to be fully believed and understood. As soon as you do, it just clicks. Every nuance of your playing is felt. The ergonomic body shape makes for a guitar that feels like its an extension of your body. Notes sustain in a long breath-like matter, that we've never experienced from another electric guitar (acoustically & amplified). This instrument is as alive as they come.

So much of the magic of a Marchione can be found in its construction. Each piece of Michigan Silver Maple (the very same species of Maple used on vintage 1959 Les Pauls) is hand picked and tap tuned, as well as hand carved to the appropriate thickness by one master luthier. The neck angle plays a big role in the feel of these instruments as well; providing a low, supple action that not many builders can achieve without excessive buzzing. Not at all the case with this guitar. The fretwork is perfection and each note rings out clear and true. This is one of the pieces of Stephen's work that is so difficult to describe, without trying one for yourself. If a perfect setup with the lowest action possible and no buzzing is your thing (who's isn't it?!) Then this may very well be the perfect guitar for you.

This 59 Burst features a beautiful sounding set of Tone Specific Pickup's PAF Virtuoso Humbuckers. This set working alongside the semi hollow construction, gives this guitar a rich voice that truly make it a master of all trades. They are outrageously clear and dynamic with great warmth and presence. With the dual volume and tone controls, you can pull off anything from Jazz, Blues, Rock, Fusion, Western Swing and everything in between. It's voice will never pigeonhole you in anyway; rather allow you to explore new possibilities you had never thought of before.

From Stephen Marchione:

"My new semi-hollow body was created with professionalism above all else in mind.
The idea to construct such an instrument was born one evening when I encountered Mike Moreno, a renowned New York based jazz musician, at a private concert. I watched on as he played with his standard semi-hollow body guitar. Clearly impressed with his virtuosic jazz chops, I nonetheless felt that Moreno was robbed of sound quality by his very own instrument."

"After the show I talked with Moreno and proposed building a semi-hollow body electric guitar with my carefully developed 15″ Mark Whitfield Archtop guitar as the base design. Moreno agreed and months later he and I were both thrilled with the pictured result. The tone and sustain dealt out by this guitar is truly astonishing… The body of the Standard Semi-hollow guitar is made of gorgeous Italian Alpine Spruce top and an African Mahogany back. Divine. The Premium models are available in a wide variety of woods. These guitars are available with a “modern”, symmetrical f-hole design as pictured but I also make them with the “classic” f-hole design as well. The body is built out of light weight Swamp Ash with a trapezoid shaped inlaid pick-guard made of the same maple used for the fingerboard. The neck is built out of 1/4"sawn flame maple for extreme durability, sustain and resonance.

Speaking of resonance this guitar does not stop ringing. It blooms even unplugged like only some of the finest acoustic flattop guitars do. The entire guitar weighs in at 6lbs 10oz. This particular T-Bucket is fitted with an ABM 2-point Vibrato, that has a fully routed out tremolo cavity. This allows the player to not only be able to push downward but also allows for extreme upward motion.

The electronics in this guitar are also extremely unique. The pickups are hand wound "Double-D" splitable humbuckers by Benedetti Pickups with handmade aluminum covers by Tao. They are asymmetrically wound humbuckers that can be split into true single coils, without any noticeable /perceived volume drop. When in humbucking mode they deliver a beautiful mid-output PAF-like tone but with more sparkle and clarity. When they are split they sound much like a Tele or Strat style pickup. They are uniquely voiced, yet familiar both at once. Both single coil and humbucker enthusiasts will love this matched set. Since each pickup is splitable via separate pots (one on the volume pot one on the tone pot) you can mix and match the two pickups anyway you'd like to in the middle position.

The neck feels like a dream. It is a slightly wider than most Fender-style guitars with it's 1 & 11/16" nut width, making it easy to fingerpick or flat-pick. The neck profile is a "perfectionists" Medium C-shape, with a touch more heft than your average Med C. The fretwork is impeccable and the frets still have their full life ahead of them. With the way Tao frets their necks, you can not see or feel the tangs from the side of the neck as they were cut to size and then put in from the top of the fingerboard. This way they will never begin to protrude and become sharp on the sides with changes in humidity. Tao also uses their "Progressive Fretting" system. This is where the frets get increasingly thinner as you travel up the fingerboard past the 12th fret to avoid cramping while doing complex chords.

All in all between the finish work where you can feel and see the wood grain, the versatile hand-wound pickups, lightweight balanced feel (seated or standing) and the inspiring fully routed out vibrato cavity; this guitar is one of our favorites to have ever come through the shop.

This T-Bucket is in very good playing condition, however it is a used item and exhibits a few finish scratches and dings from honest use. All the pieces just fell into place perfectly on this build. A terrific Black Guard. You can feel this Tele vibrating erratically in the palm of your hand, its a lively and resonant guitar to say the least. We decided to go with a Mojo PAB (Paul A Bigsy) style pickup in the neck. In the 50's this was a mod players looking for a fuller, warmer almost Archtop-like tone would use as an aftermarket neck pickup for their Teles. These pickups do everything from clean Swing lines, to chordal Jazz and fingerpicking styles beautifully. However if you let the pickup overdrive your tube amp a bit or if you use a gain pedal; you will have plenty of power to get a great grungy blues tone with tons of harmonic all the way up to classic rock P-90-like tones. The Fralin Blues Special in the bridge is a medium output 50's Style Tele pickup with lots of spank and clarity without sounding the least bit harsh.

This guitar weighs in at a comfortable and light 6lbs 14oz. This example weighs in at only 5lbs 2oz.

This particular custom Mendocino features a double-bound Black Nitro finished, Reclaimed Old-Growth Redwood body and a beautiful Macassar Ebony fingerboard with a 12" radius and MOP block inlays, as well as Macassar Ebony binding, for a more comfortable playing experience.

This guitar is a joy to hold and play, it is also extraordinarily well balanced. However due to popular demand, the original Foil Bucker from Izzy’s days with Ronin is now again an available option as well.

Physically this guitar features many of the same ingredients found in the original Mirari. Such as a body built from 900 + years old, Old Growth Redwood and a Honduran Mahogany neck with RW board, keeping these instruments both lightweight and resonant. Each piece of wood used is hand chosen by Izzy & Vinnie for the best possible weight, rigidity and of course tone. The fretwork and setup as always on the guitars Izzy builds is impeccable.

As mentioned this guitar features two Foil Bucker pickups. They are able to be split into single coils using the push-push buttons next to the first two control knobs.

This Mirari also features the Magic Button option, which is a piezo disc with its own dedicated push button located beneath the 3-way toggle switch. The “Magic Button” is hidden inside of the guitars body, beneath the bridge pickup. This button allows you to get an acoustic or dobro like sound out of your guitar. You can also get much more experimental with it and tap on the body for rhythmic looping or scratch at the springs for an unusual sound effect.

The Foil Bucker pickups cross the line between a great Gold-Foil and low output PAF. Every nuance of your playing is heard and they clean up beautifully with your guitars volume control.

Winding one coil in each pickup much stronger than the other allows for the humbucking tones to still sound crisp and bell-like. Because of this offset winding scheme you are also able to split each pickup without a noticeable drop in volume. These pickups can have a near acoustic-like quality to them and are highly sensitive to your pick attack. The FB also loves drive and fuzz pedals. They can be meaty and fat but with the push of either one of the two coil-split buttons, they become brighter and more focused; leaning more towards the Fullerton CA side of the tonal spectrum. Of course with their Gold Foil DNA there is always some amount of warmth and ethereal airiness to this guitars tone. Playing a Mirari is truly a mesmerizing & unique experience all its own.

A new addition to the Fiam Mirari not found on previous Ronin models is the Vega Tremolo
system. It is set up to float with two balanced low friction springs. This guitar also has an upgraded "Torn" trem route, which allows for extreme pull back.

Even with the standard non-upgraded trem route models you can pull back quite a bit. However with the Vega Trem and full Torn route this guitar can pull back at least two whole steps and in some situations even more. It's pretty wild.

Now to discuss the included 4-button Tornipulator circuit. If you are into Avant-Garde music or like to build unique landscapes of sound while using pedals like loopers or just want to use the momentary Kill-Switch or LPF alone for tremolo or vibrato type sounds; it's all at your finger tips. The 4-Button Tornipulator has these 4 functions; all of which can be used in conjunction together. The first button (all momentary) activates the Microphone, the second introduces 60 Cycle Hum and is essentially a ground lift, the third button is a Kill Switch and last but not least is a momentary Low Pass Filter (LPF) button. This button doesn’t kill the pickups signal completely like the kill-switch but instead momentarily darkens the pickups tone.

This Mirari is finished in a beautiful Pinecrest Green metallic nitro finish over Gold. This guitar is their new take on one of Izzy’s most loved creations, the Ronin Mirari. Now featuring Fiam's new Fiambucker (aka F5) pickups which were designed in close collaboration with David Torn. This model is now referred to as the Fiam Mirari F-5.

This particular Mirari F-5 is finished in Aged Firemist Red with a brushed silver acrylic guard. Physically the F5 features many of the same ingredients found in the original Mirari. Such as a body built from 900 + years old Old Growth Redwood and a Honduran Mahogany neck, keeping these instruments both lightweight and resonant. Each piece of wood used is hand chosen by Izzy and Vinnie for the best possible weight, rigidity and of course tone. Even the Rosewood used for the fingerboard is of very high quality, with a nice tight grain and beautiful hues of both dark and light brown. The fretwork and setup as always on the guitars Izzy builds is impeccable.

The pickups in this guitar can't easily be described, luckily David Torn has made some great demos that can be seen both on YouTube and his Instagram channel, as well as at the bottom of this listing.

Similarly to the Foil Bucker, they possess tonal qualities all their own. They have a unique spongy and ethereal characteristic some would say "airy" while at the same time sounding very substantial and full. They are a medium out-put pickup that can really drive a tube amp if you want them to, but wont ever overload you with to much bass, muddying up your tone. They are powerful like a P-90 but with a much wider tonal range due to the coils of the pickups being asymmetrically wound and much further apart from each other than most traditional pickup designs.

Winding one coil much stronger than the other allows for the humbucking tones to still sound crisp and bell-like and also allows you to split each pickup without a noticeable drop in volume. They can have a near acoustic-like quality and are highly sensitive to your pick attack. These pickups also love drive and fuzz pedals. They can be meaty and fat, but with the push of either one of the two coil-split buttons or one of the two high pass filter buttons; they become brighter and more focused. It's as if you have three different gain stages at your fingertips. Start out with your full hum-bucking tone, then press one of the coil taps and then try incorporating one of the HPF buttons. The great tones are near infinite and the control layout becomes very intuitive, once you are seated with the instrument.

Here is what David Torn has said about his Fiam Mirari's tone:

“This guitar is more USEFULLY broad-in-scope
than any guitar I've ever played. Fantastic
base tones & outrageous responsiveness.
No useless tones, the pickups can feel
super-powered or they can feel like they’re
wide-open low-outputters. + the magic
button!” - David Torn

Another great addition to the Fiam Mirari F5 is the Vega Trem system. It is set up with two balanced, low friction springs. This guitar features Fiam Guitars standard trem route, however with the Vega system you can pull back quite a bit (a minor 3rd to two whole steps, depending on the tension of each string) It's a pretty wild and incredibly inspiring experience. These guitars also stay in tune absolutely beautifully, even with heavy use of the tremolo system

Last but not least we have a piezo-contact pickup (aka "The Magic Button") hidden in the guitars body, under the bridge pickup. This button allows you to get an acoustic or dobro like sound out of your guitar. You can also get much more experimental with it and tap on the body for rhythmic looping or scratch at the springs for an unusual sound effect.

These guitars are built with great passion and that passion certainly translates to whomever picks one up. With this new F5 being serial # 14 we are glad to say that our loyal base of past Ronin customers are extremely happy with their F5’s and we couldn't be more thrilled to offer them to you.

Specs:
Body: Old Growth Redwood
Neck: Genuine Honduran Mahogany
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Scale Length: 25 1/2"
Neck Profile: Soft V to C .88”-.93” w/ 154 Fretwire (same fret wire used on all past Ronin guitar models)
Nut: Hand-Cut Bone
Nut Width: 1 11/16"
Bridge: Vega Trem
Tuners: Hipshot
Pickups: Fiambucker Bridge and Neck
Control Layout: Vol, Tone, 2 Coil Split buttons, Magic Button, 3-way Toggle, HPF Neck, HPF Bridge
Pickguard: Brushed Silver Acrylic
Finish: Aged Firemist Red Nitro Lacquer / Medium Relic
Options: Magic Button / Piezo / Wine Cellar Reclaimed OG Redwood
Case: Reunion Blues Protective Gig-Bag
Weight: 7lbs 2oz
Comes w/ COA & Spec Sheet
From past Ronin and Pensa Custom guitars luthier Izzy lugo and his partner Vinnie Saccocio comes Fiam Guitars.

Recently Fiam developed the ‘Mirari F-5 with newly designed dual P-90 style pickups (still an option) which are absolutely beautiful. However due to popular demand, the original Foil Bucker from Izzy’s days with Ronin is now an available option as well.

Physically this guitar features many of the same ingredients found in the original Mirari. Such as a body built from 900 + years old Old Growth Redwood and a Honduran Mahogany neck with RW board, keeping these instruments both lightweight and resonant. Each piece of wood used is hand chosen by Izzy & Vinnie for the best possible weight, rigidity and of course tone. The fretwork and setup as always on the guitars Izzy builds is impeccable.

As mentioned this guitar features two Foil Bucker pickups. They can be split into single coils using the push-push buttons next to the volume and tone control knobs.

Try using the Magic Button with a gated fuzz pedal. Trust us, it's a lot of fun.

Playing a Mirari is truly a mesmerizing and unique experience all its own.

A new addition to the Fiam Mirari not found on previous Ronin models is the Vega Tremolo system. It is set up to float with two balanced low friction springs. This guitar also has the upgraded "Torn" trem route which allows for extreme pull back.

Even with the standard non-upgraded trem route models you can pull back quite a bit. However with the Vega Trem and full Torn route this guitar can pull back at least two whole steps and in some situations even more. The bridge is a Staytrem with steel saddles for that classic Tele spank but with spot on intonation.

This Mario has a great feeling chunky C (.86"-.93") neck profile and a modern compound radius 9.5"-12" for comfortability when playing chords in first and second position and gradually becomes flatter as you go up the board. The Alpine Spruce has a gorgeous Bear Claw figure that just pops with the Arctic Blue acrylic guard and back plates. The raw and brushed metal accents such as the pickup covers, knobs and Mastery hardware all give this guitar a very industrial and modern yet classy look.

The tones that are achievable are breathtaking. The pickups are Mojo Pickups UK's Dual-Foil, Humbucking Gold Foils. They have silver mesh with un-plated metal surrounds. Each pickup is independently splitable via the second two slide switches for ultimate tonal flexibility. In humbucking mode they are full, crisp and gritty with a nice spanky midrange; while splitting them gives you more clarity and chime. These are some of richest and most articulate pickups on the market. The first slide switch turns on an internal piezo pickup, that picks up the natural acoustic resonance of the guitar. While great for tricks, such as playing behind the bridge or nut and tapping on the body; it could also yield convincing Archtop and acoustic type tones.

The Mastery Vibrato is smooth and works beautifully with the Mastery Bridge. It's hard to go wrong with this setup. Lastly this is the first Deimel to feature a Tornipulator circuit. The Tornipulator is the experimentalists dream mod. It consists of three momentary buttons and a microphone, found on the bass side of the guitar. The first button turns on the mic, for controlled feedback and unique sound scapes, you can also sing into it. The second button is a 60 Cycle Hum switch which is incredibly fun for rhythmic looping, while the final third button is a kill switch, cutting the signal of the pickups. Players love to use this button for tremolo type sounds.

All in all this is a unique and inspiring instrument useful for many different styles. If you're looking for a great semi-hollow body guitar with huge versatility and a broad tonal palette, don't overlook this BlueStar.

Model / Specs

"BoltTone" Deimel Bluestar »custom made« , serial number #013

Body: 2-piece thermo treated alpine spruce w/ alpine spruce top

Body execution: Semi-hollow w/ 2 x f-holes

Neck wood: Black Walnut

Fretboard wood: Ebony

Fretboard inlays: Mother of pearl

Frets: 21, Wagner Medium Jumbo

Nut: Synthetic bone

Glue: Polyurethane

Scale Length: Long Scale 25.5“ with compound radius 9.5“ to 12“

Neck Shape: Medium fat 59JM .86"-.96"

Headstock: Natural w/ decal logo, 6R

Tuner: Gotoh SDS510, x-nickel

Body varnish: Natural Matte

Pickguard: One piece frozen plastic »Artic Blue«

Back plates: One piece frozen plastic »Artic Blue«

Pickup Neck: Mojo Dual Foil, silver mesh, aged

Pickup Bridge: Mojo Dual Foil, silver mesh, aged

Pickup Extra: Built in piezo

Bridge/Vibrato: Mastery Bridge + vibrato brushed

Electricity: 3-way toggle for pickup selection, 3 slider switches, black: piezo
on/off, split for neck, split for bridge

Extras: Tornipulator w/ microphone on/off, 60cycle hum, kill switch

Knobs: 2 x Glendale dome knobs for volume + tone

Wire: Belden 83049, 7 stranded

Pots: CTS, 500 kOhm log.

Capacitors: Mojotone Pio, 22nf 22nf

Output: Switchcraft, on side

Case: Hiscox w/ Deimel logo

Weight: 7lbs 2oz
jesselli-guitars-modernaire-circa-1989-1990-natural-walnut-ebony-authorized-jesselli-dealer-final-price-drop
Jesselli Guitars Modernaire Circa 1989-1990 Natural Walnut & Ebony (Authorized Jesselli Dealer) *Final price drop*

Available is one of the most iconic and important Jesselli Guitars ever built. This highly figured Claro Walnut and African Ebony bodied Modernaire was built in either 1989 or 1990 according to Joseph. There are no serial numbers with Jesselli Guitars, each instrument is one of a kind. Joe does name his models however the specs of each instrument always differer from one example to the next. Joe enjoys experimenting and trying out new ideas with every new composition he builds.

This incredible example of a Modernaire was previously owned by Alan Rogan who was a well-regarded touring technician for Rock and Roll greats such as Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Pete Townsend just to name a few.

Alan discovered Joseph Jesselli’s guitars while working as Kieth Richards on-road guitar tech during a Stones tour in the 1980s. Keith owns several different Jesselli's and was traveling with one of them at the time. Alan passed away a few years ago and we were able to acquire this Modernaire through a store in England who was selling some instruments from Alan’s estate sale.

This Jesselli was in incredible overall condition when we received it however it did need some attention in order to play and look its best. Since we are good friends and dealers of Joe Jesselli we were able to have him go over the guitar in full. The frets have been re-dressed and are now like-new, the entire instruments was buffed and cleaned, a new truss-rod cover was made (as the existing one was lost when we received it) and two hairline cracks near the butt-end of the guitars body were repaired. You can see this in the close up shot of the strap-lock recess beneath the tailpiece. The structural integrity of this guitar is perfect with no issues what so ever. As a matter of fact according to Joe Jesselli the repaired area is now stronger than it has ever been and this Modernaire is good to go for at least another lifetime.

This Jesselli features a fully hollow body. The body is made up of three parts a book-matched Claro Walnut top and back sandwiched between an ebony core or middle section. The ebony core is not one solid piece, instead it is made up of multiple pieces of the same ebony. The Claro walnut is of the highest grade as is the African Ebony which was likely sourced from the stash of Jimmy D'Aquisto. Jesselli apprenticed for D'Aquisto for nearly ten years and has lots of wood from the legendary builders personal stash. This guitar itself has a hugely unique acoustic voice that is hard to ignore even before plugging in.

Acoustically this Modernaire sounds like a miniature archtop but with the sustain of a solid body. If you strum it and listen to the open strings ring out, it's as if this guitar is alive with tons of ghostly artifacts and harmonic overtones. This Jesselli is a very responsive one with notes that seem to just leap off of the fingerboard. You can feel the entire instrument working together and vibrating as you play up and down the neck. Currently this guitar is strung with a set of D'Addario NYXL 10-46 gauge strings and setup with a nice and supple low action of 3 and 4 64th's of an inch high E to low E. However if you have a different setup preference, we'll be glad to have Joseph set it up to your specs.

The pickups in this Modernaire were custom wound to Joes specifications by Seymour Duncan himself. They are very much like a Gibson Firebird mini humbucker except they were wound with a hollow-body guitar in mind. They are the perfect set for this guitar. You can achieve both well-rounded, open and warm Jazz tones as well as guttural yet focused Rock and Roll tones with an overdriven amp. This Modernaire really enjoys gain and does not feedback in an unpleasant way like some hollow body guitars do. Instead the feedback is very musical and controllable due to the unique architecture of this guitar. There are braces inside of the body of this Jesselli, just not in the traditional sense. Instead of having braces that are glued inside the guitar Joe actually carves the braces into the wood itself in order to achieve the desired voicing for any given build. The thickness of the top and the way that it is carved also dictate the way each particular Jesselli will sound.

Back to discussing some of the materials and the execution of this build. The neck is built from highly figured 1/4" sawn Rock Maple with an African Ebony fingerboard. The African Ebony like all of the materials on this guitar is of the highest grade and exhibits some attractive streaks of brown and orange which compliment the Claro Walnut top and back very elegantly. The Claro Walnut is highly figured but in a unique way. Joe typically chooses figured woods that are out of the ordinary or not something you would typically see on a Les-Paul or other "socially accepted" style of guitar. His preferences on wood choices are more in line with the way a high-end furniture maker would choose their materials as opposed to a luthier. Keep in mind that Jesselli was a furniture maker who also dabbled in high-end jewelry making for some time before switching over to building instruments.

When looking closely at this Modernaire you will notice that nearly every part of the guitar is handmade by Joseph Jesselli. The pickup rings are hand engraved out of brass with a nickel finish which has gained a beautiful patina over the years. The sides of the rings are carved from water buffalo horn. The pickup covers are made from English Kip leather and dyed to match the top. Leather has zero affect on the tone of the pickups. It is a much more transparent material than say metal or plastic. The tailpiece is also made from hand engraved nickel plated brass. The bridge is made out of water buffalo horn with unique Art Deco carvings on the legs. The saddles are individually intonated and are made out of brass. The bridge itself is adjustable up and down and the posts are pinned to the body. This guitars bridge also swivels back and forth to make intonation easy and precise. Like on all Jesselli's the saddles are made to fit many different string gauges. You will not have an issue if you decided to switch to a heavier or lighter string gauge. These guitars are designed with flexibility in mind.

The neck of this Jesselli is bound in genuine ancient mastodon ivory. This is one of the first guitars to feature Joe's stepped binding which allows the player to utilize the entire width of the fingerboard. On most guitars even if the nut width is 1 11/16" it isn't exactly that width. After the sides of the frets are dressed in order to not stick out and or feel sharp you loose quite a bit of material. On a Jesselli you are able to play on the entire width of the fingerboard and then an additional stepped piece of binding is added on to give the neck an overall wider feel. On this Modernaire the nut width is 1 5/8" however it feels like it is 1 11/16" wide due to the reasons stated above. The frets Joseph uses are made from silicon bronze; a very durable material with self lubricating qualities. They do not color the tone in any way like stainless steel can sometimes do.

The scale-length of this Jesselli is 24 ¾” for a slinky feel with ease when fretting complex chords. The frets are the perfect medium, modern size. The dimensions are 0.048” tall and 0.096” wide. This Modernaire like all Jesselli guitars feature a zero-fret (aka fret nut) this allows for the player to never overplay the frets in first position which can cause you to accidentally bend the fretted note sharp. This design also allows the action to be very uniform from the first to last fret, never getting too high in the upper registers.

Please use the photos as a partial description of this guitar and feel free to reach out with any questions that you might have. We will be happy to give you and in hand description. This Modernaire comes with a handmade wooden case as well as two different leather straps and all of the tools you will need to adjust the hex screws. Lastly this is one of the few guitars that Jesselli has made with an accompaniment hard shell case. The middle lock is currently broken and can either be left as-is or replaced by the next owner as they see fit. The leather straps currently hold the case shut. Whoever ends up with this beauty will be very glad they did.

There is so much magic and history packed into this Modernaire and you know it is one of Joe Jesselli's favorites as when you walk into his shop the first thing you see on his wall is a blown up photo of this exact Modernaire. A real treat for both the player and or collector of high-end handmade guitars. Don’t let this rare opportunity pass you by. This Modernaire will only appreciate in value over time.

Specs:

Body: Claro Walnut and African Ebony

Neck: 1/4” Sawn East Coast Rock Maple w/ Art Deco volute (heavy flame figure)

Nut: 1 5/8” Nut width + "Jesselli custom stepped binding" (Feels like 1 & 11/16")

Scale length: 24 3/4"

Neck Profile: Jesselli Open C .82” - .94” (similar to a D'Aquisto C neck profile)

Radius: 8”-16” Compound Radius

Stepped Binding (Ancient Mastodon Ivory)

Fingerboard: African Ebony

Frets: Silicon Bronze w/ zero fret (22 frets)

Fingerboard Inlays: Deco-Style MOP

Headstock: 3 + 3 tuner design w/ Inlaid MOP Jesselli logo

Tuners: Schaller with handmade engraved nickel plated brass tuner buttons & ebony core

Trussrod Cover: Hand Carved Watussi Horn & Water Buffalo Horn

Bridge: Water Buffalo Horn w/ hand intonated brass saddles

Tailpiece: Nickel Plated Brass. As you’re probably aware, the Chelsea Hotel has more historic significance than we can possibly fit into a single guitar description.

The building was built between 1883 and 1885 and opened to the public in 1885. This LTD Edition Chelsea Hotelecaster in particular has a wonderfully resonant and woody voice full of harmonic complexities that are hard to find in a brand new guitar. It also plays with ease and is of a nice and balanced weight of 7lbs 4oz

This build features a pair of Gemini Pickups. A Suprocaster in the bridge and a Gold Foil in the neck position. They give this guitar a unique voice that’ll stand out from other T-Style instruments you’ve likely played. The bridge is based on the old Supro / Valco guitars lapsteel pickups of the 50’s and early 60’s but in a Tele sized format. This pickup delivers a more aggressive type of Tele tone with a low noise floor and more growl like a P-90 while still having a crystal clear top-end. The neck pickup delivers classic 50’s Gold Foil tone. His Classic II is based on the traditional Fullerton, single cut recipe but with many improvements including hand selected tone-woods for a balanced and light weight instrument that rings like a bell.

This particular Classic II weighs in at a comfortable and very well balanced 6lbs 13oz. It features body contours and an angled neck pocket, as well as intonated brass saddles and staggered tuning posts for the utmost stability.

The pickups are Harmonic Design's Super 90 bridge and Z-90 neck pickup. In this guitar these pickups sound crisp with a nice clear top end and slightly more body/girth than most Tele sets. The bridge pickup still retains the classic Tele bite we all know and love, just a little less peaky. The neck pickup is hugely impressive. We would describe it as being somewhere in-between an Alnico P-90 and vintage DeArmond Dynasonic. The noise floor is also considerably less then most single coils on the market today along with a hum cancelling middle position. Chuck certainly knows how to build a guitar with impeccable tone, feel and playability. If these guitars were double their price, it would still be more than justifiable.

This Classic II was well loved and played though the frets have been cleaned and polished. They have a full life ahead of them. EVO frets seem to last forever compared to nickel silver. The body is made from highly resonant Nootka Cedar while the neck is built out of Torrified Rock Maple. The top and back of this Thornton is finished in Olympic White with the sides being finished in Sonic Blue. The Olympic White nitro finish has began to yellow a bit giving it a greenish hue which looks incredibly cool with the Sonic Blue sides. At one point in its life the past owner must have put a sticker on the back so there is a spot that has yellowed more than the rest of the body. We think it adds some nice vibe to this already awesome build. You will also find various small dings on the body, but nothing to write home about.

The playability is spot on and the guitar was recently restrung and professionally setup with 10's. This is a very responsive and articulate instrument.

The Jetson’s scale is 25” which has become quite popular over the past few years. This scale will certainly feel familiar to players of Fender style guitars, but with a bit less tension when bending. A Mastery bridge and vibrato complete the package. The vibrato is highly touch sensitive and responsive.

This Jetson 2 has a beautiful translucent blonde finish with exposed pores. Originally custom built for Portland Oregon based guitarist Ryan Miller, this Stormcrow features many Ronin firsts and is truly one of a kind. It features extra arm and belly contours for extreme comfort and an eye-catching appearance. The guitar is equipped with Ronin Stormcrow Wound Foil Buckers and a Single Foil behind the bridge. The behind the bridge Single Foil has a dedicated 3-way mini toggle that allows you to turn it off in the first position, blend it with the Foil Buckers in the second position or use it alone in the third. You also have a Magic Button / Piezo pickup switch that can be used in conjunction with any of the pickup settings. As for custom features this Stormcrow also comes equipped with a Kill-Switch momentary button. There are tons of sonic possibilities with this setup.

This is one of those guitars that is just dripping with inspiration. Being built in 2019 there is certainly some honest finish wear; but it is hard to distinguish which wear is from the original relicing process and which came afterwards. Included is a 3-ply black pickguard that Ryan requested after purchasing the instrument. The body is not currently drilled for this guard, though it would be a simple procedure to drill the holes if you decided that you’d like to install it. The original frets have a full life ahead of them.

Overall, this rare Ronin is in great playing condition with a recent pro setup and a set of 10–46 gauge strings. The action is set at a nice and low 3 1/2 & 4 64ths of an inch at the 12th fret high E to low E.

As mentioned, this guitar is equipped with two Ronin “Stormcrow Wound” Foil Bucker Pickups. They are much like a standard Ronin Foil Bucker, but in a slightly smaller and more decorative casing. They were specifically wound and designed for 24 & ¾” scale guitars and all shorter scale Ronin models. You can think of the tone as a perfect mashup of the best qualities of a Gold-Foil and a PAF. They also have the punch and grit of a P-90 but with the clarity and bite of a Tele or Strat style pickup.

As you lower the volume controls this guitar never loses its unique tonal characteristics, the tone just simply gets cleaner. This is great for cranking your tube amp and using the volume knobs to go from clean to dirty. It’s the kind of tone that excites the senses and stands out in a mix while also working well for solo guitar work. Comes with original COA and MONO protective gig-bag. Ronin had run out of Reunion Blues protective gig-bags at the time it was shipped to it’s first owner.

Specs:
Body: Master Grade Reclaimed SOGR (Solid Old Growth Redwood)
Neck: Genuine Mahogany
Custom: Extra Arm & Belly Contours
Board: Rosewood
Nut Width: 1 11/16”
Radius: Compound 10” 12”
Neck Profile: C (.89-.92”)
Scale Length: 24 ¾”
Inlay: Mini Trap
Binding: White
Bridge: Aluminum ABR
Tailpiece: Mastery Vibrato
Tuners: Hipshot Open Gear
Pickups: Stormcrow Wound Foil Bucker X 2 & Single Foil (behind bridge)
Pickguard: Optional 3-Ply Black Guard Included
Finish: Suntan Copper Relic
CONTROLS: 2 x Vol, 1 x Tone, 3-Way Toggle, Magic Button, 3-Way Piezo toggle (1. By past Ronin Guitars luthier Izzy Lugo. NEW (Authorized Dealer)

From past Ronin and Pensa Custom guitars luthiers Izzy Lugo and his mentor Vinnie Saccocio comes Fiam Guitars. This guitar is their new take on one of Izzy’s most loved creations, the Ronin Mirari. Now featuring Fiam's new Fiambucker (aka F5) pickups which were designed in close collaboration with David Torn. This model is now referred to as the Fiam Mirari F5. This particular Mirari F5 is finished in Aztec Gold over Silver with a medium relic and 3-ply parchment guard.

The fretwork and setup are both impeccable.

The Fiambucker pickups possess tonal qualities all their own. Instead of using two Gold Foil type coils like with the Foilbucker, these new pickups are based around two P-90 type coils. They have a unique spongy and ethereal characteristic, some would say "airy" while at the same time sounding very substantial and full. They are a medium output pickup that can really drive a tube amp if you want them to, but wont ever overload you with too much bass or muddy up your tone. They offer a wide tonal range due to their asymmetrically wound coils.

Winding one coil per pickup much stronger than the other allows for the humbucking tones to still sound crisp and bell-like. It also allows you to split each pickup without a noticeable drop in volume. The Fiambucker can have a near acoustic-like quality and is highly sensitive to your pick attack. These pickups also love drive and fuzz pedals. They can be gritty, warm and full bodied or become brighter and more focused with the push of either one of the two coil-split or high pass filter buttons.

It's as if you have three different gain stages at your fingertips. Start out with your full humbucking tone, then press one of the coil taps and then try incorporating one of the HPF buttons. The great tones are near infinite and the control layout becomes very intuitive once you are seated with the instrument.

Here is what David Torn has said about his Fiam Mirari F5's tone: “This guitar is more USEFULLY broad-in-scope than any guitar I've ever played. Fantastic base tones & outrageous responsiveness. No useless tones, the pickups can feel super-powered or they can feel like they’re wide-open low-outputters. + the magic button!” - David Torn

A new addition to the Fiam Mirari not found on previous Ronin models is the Vega Tremolo system. It is set up to float with two balanced low friction springs. This guitar also has an upgraded "Torn" trem route which allows for extreme pull back; as much as two and a half whole steps with open strings. These guitars also stay in tune absolutely beautifully; even with heavy use of the tremolo system.

This F5 also features "The Magic Button" option. The Magic Button is essentially a piezo contact mic placed inside of the body and connected to a push button. This unique feature allows you to get an acoustic or dobro like sound out of your guitar. You can also get much more experimental with it and tap on the body for rhythmic looping or scratch at the springs for an unusual sound effect.

Specs:
• Body: Reclaimed Solid Old Growth Redwood
• Neck: Honduran Mahogany
• Fingerboard: Rosewood
• Scale Length: 25.5"
• Neck Specs: Soft V .86" - .93” w/ 154 Nickel Silver Fretwire (Same fret-wire found on all past Ronin models)
• Nut: Hand-Cut Bone
• Nut Width: 1 11/16"
• Bridge: Vega Trem
• Tuners: Hipshot
• Pickups: Fiambucker Neck & Bridge
• Control Layout: Vol, Tone, Tone, 2 Coil Split buttons, Magic Button, 3-way Toggle, HPF Neck, HPF Bridge
• Pickguard: Parchment 3-Ply
• Finish: Aztec Gold over Silver / Nitro Lacquer / Medium Relic
• Options: Magic Button / Torn Trem Route / Double Metallic Paint
• Case: Reunion Blues Protective Gig-Bag
• Weight: 7lbs 4oz
• COA included

fiam-guitars-mirari-2023-pelham-blue-over-silver-by-past-ronin-guitars-luthier-izzy-lugo-new-authorized-dealer
Fiam Guitars Mirari 2023 Pelham Blue over Silver. The fretwork and setup are both impeccable.

As mentioned this guitar features two Foil Bucker pickups. They are able to be split into single coils using the corresponding push-push buttons next to the first two control knobs.

Because of this asymmetric winding scheme you are also able to split each pickup without a noticeable drop in volume. These pickups can have a near acoustic-like quality to them and are highly sensitive to your pick attack.

The Foil Bucker also loves drive and fuzz pedals. They can be full bodied and fat or with the push of either one of the two coil-split buttons they become brighter and more focused; leaning more towards the Fullerton CA side of the tonal spectrum. Of course with their Gold Foil DNA there is always some amount of warmth and ethereal airiness to this guitars tone. Playing a Mirari is truly a mesmerizing and unique experience all its own.

This Mirari also features the Magic Button option, which is a piezo disc with its own dedicated push button located beneath the 3-way toggle switch. The “Magic Button” is hidden inside of the guitars body beneath the bridge pickup. This button allows you to get an acoustic or dobro like sound out of your guitar. You can also get much more experimental with it and tap on the body for rhythmic looping or scratch at the springs for an unusual sound effect.

A new addition to the Fiam Mirari not found on previous Ronin models is the Vega Tremolo system. If you are into Avant-Garde music or like to build unique landscapes of sound while using pedals like loopers or just want to use the momentary Kill-Switch or LPF alone for tremolo or vibrato type sounds; it's all at your finger tips. The 4-Button Tornipulator has these 4 functions; all of which can be used in conjunction with each other. The first button (all momentary) activates the Microphone, the second introduces 60 Cycle Hum and is essentially a ground lift, the third button is a Kill Switch and last but not least the fourth button is a momentary Low Pass Filter. This button doesn’t kill the pickups signal completely like the kill-switch but instead momentarily darkens the pickups tone.

This Mirari is finished in a beautiful Pelham Blue over Silver nitro finish. Lots of sustain without the overly heavy weight of many Les Pauls. The Virtus is a unique ergonomic design with a chambered body and aircraft grade aluminum lower horn. We were blown away by how loud and resonant this instrument was even before plugging it in. It truly has something special going for it in that arena. The notes and harmonics just leap off the fingerboard with a flat-top like bloom and great sustain, not typically found on most bolt-on neck designs. The same goes for when it's plugged into an amp. This guitar is impressively lively. The 5% overwound hand-wound McNelly Autumn Humbucker pickup set is perfect in this build. They can certainly be aggressive when overdriven, but always retain a nice shimmer both clean or dirty with great note separation. They pickup the whole range of the instrument. Players of all styles will appreciate this guitars easy playability and quick attack. Clean players will enjoy a rich, dynamic and warm tonality. This guitar features a dark brown sunburst finish and natural back and sides. The body and neck are built entirely out of Honduran mahogany with a ziricote fingerboard as well as ziricote body binding. The Antonio is Ulrich Teuffel's nod to two luthier legends Antonio Torres and Antonio Stradivari. You can see the theme of classical guitar design throughout the entirety of this composition; from the body shape, to the pickup mount that is in the shape of an acoustic guitars sound-hole and of course the slotted headstock and flat-top style bridge. The bridge is actually fully adjustable with metal studs attached beneath it for height adjustment and wooden saddles that allow for full intonation of each string.

The Antonio is a unique chamber bodied electric guitar and highly functional work of art that will inspire you to explore new sonic territory. This model features a single Teuffel handwound Alnico 2 humbucker that can be split via the push-pull volume control. The pickup has a warm and inviting presence while being highly responsive to your pick attack. Splitting the pickup allows for a more crystalline and bell-like top end. This guitar is equally as much of a joy to play as it is to admire. You can feel instantly upon strumming a single chord, that this guitar is highly resonant. The soft v neck profile and 24.75" scale give the Antonio a more familiar feel than you might expect from a Teuffel.

The only non-original part of this guitar would be the tuners. The original owner found that the Gotoh Stealth tuning machines were not holding tune to his liking. He had a very high-end set of custom tuning machines built for him by Rodgers Tuning Machines in Nova Scotia. They have snakewood buttons and fit the overall aesthetic of this build very nicely. The holes for the original tuners are fully hidden beneath the new machines. The guitar has had a recent pro setup by Izzy Lugo of Fiam Guitars in Milton NY. Izzy was also the one to replace the tuners; so you know the job was done with care. The original Stealths are included in this sale.

This Teuffel has been well maintained and shows very little signs of use. As to be expected with a dark gloss top there are some surface level scratches to the finish. The frets are like new and the guitar comes in its original hard shell case with its original set of adjustment tools.

Specs:

Finish: Dark Brown Burst / Natural

Body: Honduran mahogany

Construction: Neck-through

Binding: Ziricote

Neck: Honduran mahogany

Scale: 24.75"

Neck shape: Teuffel Symmetrical V (.79"-.90")

Fingerboard: Ziricote

Nut width: 1.71"

Fingerboard Radius" Compound 9"-12"

Frets: 22 Jim Dunlop #6105

Pickup: Teuffel wound humbucker w/ alnico 2 magnets

Controls: 1 x Vol 1 x Tone w/ push-pull vol control for coil split

Weight: 7lbs 6.1oz

Included: Teuffel HSC, tool set, original Stealth Tuners (one extra tuner, so 7 Stealth tuners in all) & owners booklet

Ser # 16

Robin Stummvoll is a luthier based in Kassel Germany. He has become known for his own unique style of building high-end and sustainable custom stringed instruments. His guitars are built from powder coated sheet metal and locally sourced native timbres. The Cosmo is a 25.5" scale electric guitar with freely movable magnetic pickups, which can be placed anywhere on the sheet metal body. This allows you to get all kinds of highly useable and / or experimental tones out of your guitar. Included are a single volume and blend pot for the utmost flexibility and fine tuning of your guitars tone. Robin winds many distinct styles of pickups. This way if you ever wanted to try out a different wind-pattern, you can easily unplug your current pickup and plug the new one in. No soldering is necessary.
This Cosmo features an "Oyster White" powder coated finish and oiled Walnut neck with semi-hemispherical fret-ends for an overall nice and rounded feel which allows you to play across the entire width of the fingerboard. The frets also have hidden tangs, so they will never protrude or feel sharp from the sides. The pickups in this Cosmo are Verso's SC-1 "Transparent" model in the neck position and SC-2 "Allround" model in the bridge. The SC-1 delivers a beautiful open, airy and woody tone with a crystal clear top-end and wonderful dynamic response. The SC-2 delivers a rich and extremely well-balanced tone with a pleasing upper mid-range almost like a P-90. It has a wonderfully defined bass response with clarity and sparkle to spare.
The build quality of each Verso is top-notch with impeccable fret-work and perfectly dialed in setups.

From Verso:
"Cosmos core feature is its freely movable and easily exchangeable pickup system. Sounds complex, but it’s wonderfully simple: The magnetic pickups stay on the sheet metal surface by themselves. Find almost infinite sound colors by moving the pickups!

Without making any compromises in sound, playability and ergonomics, the instrument is reduced to the maximum. The simple construction of Cosmo makes it possible for me to produce custom instruments in Germany at a reasonable price.

With Cosmo you have a sustainably produced electric guitar in your hands.
