Luthier Mateo Rufini is a builder of many fine, handmade stringed instruments in Italy. He builds everything from violins to classical guitars and of course his own line of electrics, where his passion truly lies. This guitar is from his new line of vintage inspired instruments. The body has a traditional nitro finish in Olympic with a great relic job which looks genuine and feels so to. The same goes for the neck with its worn down back and great carve based on a late 60's Tele Rufini had in his shop.
The hand-wound Rufini T-Vintage pickups give you classic Tele twang and bite in the bridge position and a classic and vibrant, bell-like neck pickup tone. (think later 60s pickups with a bit more girth and a reduced scoop in the mid-range). The bridge position is very authentic and truly sounds like one of our personal 66 Teles and the neck pickup is even nicer in tone than the vintage 66. We communicated to Rufini our love for later / mid-60's Tele pickups and he knocked it out of the park. Making them just bright and twangy enough to cut through a mix with ease, without being the least bit piercing. The T-Vintage has a inique 4 bolt with bushings neck design and a super tight neck pocket. So there is minimal play or movement in the neck. It is very stable. This also helps the neck and body to vibrate together freely. You'll notice how loud this Tele is unplugged, before anything else. The hardware used on Rufini's guitars is always chosen carefully, for the best results in feel and tone for that particular build.
