This Frank Brothers Sonar is an exceptionally well-balanced electric, blending vintage-informed design with thoughtful modern execution. Finished in Faded Candy Apple Red with a matching headstock, the light relic full-gloss nitrocellulose finish gives the guitar an easy, played-in feel while still presenting beautifully. The swamp ash body keeps the response open and resonant, with plenty of snap and clarity.

The quartersawn 5A flame rock maple neck is a standout, finished in a stripped vintage amber that feels smooth and familiar in the hand. The Classic Medium C carve has a comfortable, substantial shape, measuring .880” at the first fret and .960” at the twelfth, offering excellent support without feeling bulky. An Indian rosewood fingerboard with large block inlays and off-white binding on both the fretboard and headstock adds a refined, timeless look.

Electronics are centered around a set of Ron Ellis Ellisonic pickups, delivering a unique voice that blends Telecaster articulation, P-90 midrange presence, and vintage Dynasonic clarity. The control layout is both intuitive and flexible, featuring three mini switches: a high-pass filter that bleeds low end to ground for added focus, a series/parallel switch for the in-between sounds, and a blower switch that routes the bridge pickup straight to the output jack for maximum harmonic clarity.
