Handmade in Japan, the Jersey Girl Homemade Guitars Tapa Thelathina is an extraordinary example of the artistry, originality, and meticulous craftsmanship that have defined Jersey Girl since 1991. Combining unconventional design with carefully selected materials and intricate decorative details, this one-of-a-kind composition is as much a functional work of art as it is a musical instrument.
The Tapa Thelathina features a beautifully figured light ash body complemented by a maple neck and maple fingerboard. Intricate stained poplar inlays introduce colorful geometric patterns throughout the instrument, extending from the fingerboard and body to the decorative appointments. Matching light ash pickup covers, control knobs, and other handcrafted details create a cohesive aesthetic that highlights the natural beauty of the wood.
At the heart of the instrument are two original Jersey Girl small humbuckers featuring Alnico 5 magnets and AWG 42 black enamel wire. This pickup configuration is designed to provide clarity, articulation, and a rich harmonic response, with the warmth and fullness associated with humbuckers. A straightforward control layout consisting of a master volume, master tone, and pickup selector allows for intuitive operation and a versatile range of sounds.
The 25-inch scale length offers a comfortable balance between string tension and playability, while the bone nut, Sanko 214H frets, and GOTHO hardware provide a solid foundation for reliable performance.
Beyond the guitar itself, the Tapa Thelathina is presented as a complete artistic composition, accompanied by a matching embroidered strap, handcrafted wooden pick case, and matching toy amplifier. Each accessory incorporates materials and design elements that complement the guitar, reflecting Jersey Girl's distinctive approach to instrument making.
The composition includes a matching mini solid-state, toy-style practice amplifier, handcrafted in Japan using light ash sourced from the USA. Featuring intricate stained poplar decorative inlays from Japan, the amplifier incorporates a Fender Mini Amp circuit and Logitech components. Designed to complement the guitar’s distinctive aesthetic, this charming miniature amplifier adds another unique element to the Tapa Thelathina composition, reflecting Jersey Girl Homemade Guitars’ exceptional attention to detail and creative craftsmanship.
A remarkable instrument that brings together Japanese craftsmanship, imaginative design, and a deeply personal artistic vision.
Made by hand in Japan, the Tapa Thelathina represents the distinctive creative philosophy of Jersey Girl Homemade Guitars, where every instrument is conceived as an individual artistic composition rather than simply another production guitar.
