Handcrafted in Toronto by brothers Nick, Tim, and Jon Frank, the Sonar represents the heart of what makes Frank Brothers Guitar Co. so admired among players and builders alike. Founded in 2014, the company is a true family project. Twin brothers Tim and Nick handle the design and build work, constantly inspiring each other to push for perfection, while their older brother Jon oversees the business side and helps guide their shared vision. Together, the brothers and their small team craft exceptional instruments from their downtown Toronto workshop, delivering guitars that blend artistry, feel, and function in equal measure.

This Sonar in Firemist Gold captures that same thoughtful craftsmanship. Its gloss nitro finish has been given a tasteful medium relic, delivering a familiar, played-in experience without overdoing it. The vintage amber neck feels incredible in hand, smooth, and naturally broken in from the first touch.

Built from lightweight alder, the guitar resonates beautifully with a clear, balanced tone that comes alive through the FBGC “V.O.” humbuckers. The pickups offer a wide dynamic range with coil splits for single-coil clarity and a blower switch that routes the bridge pickup straight to the output jack, no matter what position you are in.
