MB Guitars '62 Double Cut - Olympic White

For sale is a stunning MB Guitars recreation of a 1962 double cut Stratocaster finished in classic Olympic White. This instrument captures the feel, sound and character of an early sixties Strat with remarkable accuracy. Every detail has been thoughtfully executed using period correct materials, construction methods and aesthetics.

This model features a hand shaped two piece alder body with deep flowing contours and correct early sixties style routing. The handmade neck is crafted from flatsawn plain maple with the rounded headstock edges and contours associated with this era. A dark East Indian rosewood slab fingerboard sits atop the neck with the correct curved transition at the headstock. The double acting truss rod uses a vintage correct cross head adjustment at the heel that cuts slightly into the fingerboard just like an original.

The fingerboard radius is a comfortable nine point five inches and the Jescar six one two five fretwire provides smooth playability. The neck profile measures zero point eight six at the first fret with a gentle taper to zero point nine six at the twelfth fret. The guitar is finished in a paper thin nitrocellulose lacquer applied from the wood up for maximum resonance. Additional details include a hand carved unbleached bone nut, Gotoh premium vintage tuners, a sixties style butterfly string tree and aged clay position markers. A period correct nineteen sixty two serial numbered neck plate completes the look.

The mint green pickguard features a wide bevel, subtle machining marks and natural looking shrink characteristics, with a full aluminum shielding plate underneath. Pickup covers and knobs follow early sixties specifications with the correct small lettering. The handwound pickups are custom made for MB Guitars by Alan Dingwall and faithfully replicate true nineteen sixty two tone. Electronics include a Luxe orange dime reproduction capacitor, CTS two hundred fifty K pots with five percent tolerance, a CRL five way switch, a Switchcraft jack and traditional cloth wiring.

Hardware consists of a Callaham vintage premium tremolo with a shallow ball end recess in the steel block. The guitar weighs seven and one half pounds and comes with a Gator vintage style hard case, a signed MB spec card and an MB guitar pick.

This is an exceptional instrument for collectors, players and vintage enthusiasts seeking the most authentic early sixties Strat style build available today.
