MB Guitars 1964 Stratocaster Style in Three Tone Burst
This MB Guitars 1964 style double cut model captures the feel and character of an original mid sixties Strat with exceptional attention to detail and true vintage accuracy. The body is a hand shaped 2 piece alder build with deep rounded contours and authentic early sixties style routing. The neck is handmade from plain maple and features the softly rounded headstock edges associated with this era. A dark East Indian rosewood curved veneer fingerboard sits on top, paired with a double acting single truss rod that uses a vintage correct cross head adjuster located at the heel.
The fingerboard has a 9.5 inch radius and is fitted with Jescar 6125 fretwire. The neck profile is a comfortable 0.83 C that measures between 0.083 and 0.093 inches. The entire instrument is finished in a paper thin nitrocellulose lacquer applied from the wood up for maximum resonance. An unbleached handmade bone nut and Gotoh premium vintage tuners complete the headstock, along with a period correct 60s style butterfly string tree and aged clay dot markers featuring narrow mid sixties spacing at the 12th fret. A 1964 serial number neck plate adds the final vintage touch.
The pickguard is a mint green unit with a wide bevel, subtle machining marks and tasteful shrinkage, backed with a full aluminum shielding plate. Period correct pickup covers and knobs with small style letters and numbers complete the look. The pickups are hand wound for MB Guitars by Alan Dingwall to exact 1964 specifications. Electronics include a Luxe orange dime reproduction capacitor, CTS 250k pots with a tight 5 percent tolerance, a CRL 5 way switch, a Switchcraft output jack and traditional cloth covered wiring.
Hardware is anchored by a Callaham vintage premium tremolo bridge with a shallow ball end recess in the steel block. The guitar weighs 7.8 pounds and comes with a Gator vintage style hard case along with a signed MB spec card and MB guitar pick.
This instrument delivers the tone, feel and aesthetic of a true mid sixties classic, crafted with remarkable precision by MB Guitars.
