AVA Guitars are hand made one at a time in Portugal by luthier and skilled machinist Julio Martins. The Style One carbon fiber guitar is limited to 100 pieces. AVA builds his instruments completely out of Carbon Fiber, no wood is used. While this is not a traditional way of building an electric guitar; the tone and feel of his instruments speak for themselves. These are very lively, resonant instruments played acoustically. When plugged in you'll notice a quick attack when picking each note (similar to a 1-piece maple neck) the instrument also has wonderful sustain.
The AVA One has a very modern esthetic and feel to it. The guitar melds into your body in a fluent and comfortable way. You have easy access to the upper registers of the fingerboard, with the cutaway and beveled back design. The fretwork is clean with the fret slots cut to size, so that the tangs of the frets don't stick out. The fret markers and side markers are made from one line of MOP; giving them a modern, minimalistic look. The Richlite fingerboard has a non sticky feel, which goes along well with the rest of this environmentally conscience design. A major upside to the carbon fiber construction, is that you do not have to keep these guitars in a properly humidified room; as the material will never begin to warp like wood does. A great guitar to gig and tour with. All plates and other carbon fiber parts are made in house by AVA. This model features two Lollar Low Wind Imperial Humbuckers.
This instrument was taken to a few guitar shows with AVA, before coming to us. It has never had an owner; however the case shows some light travel-wear.
