The Brondel Burn II is Laurent Brondel’s refined interpretation of the classic single cut electric guitar. Built one instrument at a time in his small shop in rural Maine, the Burn II takes the familiar foundation of a Les Paul style guitar and gives it a lighter, thinner and more elegant feel.
This example features a maple top over Honduran mahogany with a beautiful natural nitrocellulose lacquer finish that has developed tasteful aging and checking. The thinner body profile makes the guitar noticeably more comfortable than a traditional Les Paul while retaining the warmth, sustain and authority associated with the classic maple and mahogany combination.
A 25” scale length, 1 11/16” nut width and 12” radius give the Burn II a familiar and comfortable playing feel. A pair of Ron Ellis Signature humbuckers provide exceptional clarity, balance and harmonic detail, with a traditional two volume and two tone control layout offering plenty of versatility.
An ebony fingerboard and matching ebony headstock veneer complement the understated natural finish and highlight the quality of the woods throughout the instrument.
Laurent’s approach has always centered around building lightly, carefully matching woods and allowing the natural character of the materials to remain at the forefront. Each instrument is individually built with an emphasis on rich tone, clarity, dynamic response and exceptional playability.
