Released as a tongue-in-cheek nod to unobtainable boutique amplifiers, The Blues "Expensive Amplifier" is far more than a joke pedal. Built around a deceptively simple transistor-based circuit, it occupies a unique space somewhere between a low-gain overdrive, gritty boost, and fuzzy amp-on-the-edge-of-collapse texture. Caroline describes it as roughly "85% drive and 15% fuzz," offering everything from transparent, always-on breakup to ragged tweed-style grind.

The controls are intentionally minimal, but highly interactive. The Grit control moves from subtle amp-like warmth into raw, speaker-tearing saturation, while the Style switch shifts the pedal's overall character between smoother vintage textures and more aggressive gain structures.
