The Electronic Audio Experiments Greathammer is a bass-focused overdrive and preamp that reimagines the aggressive character of vintage Canadian solid-state amplifiers. Built for players who demand thick, articulate low-end with crushing drive, the Greathammer delivers piano-like attack and percussive punch across a wide range of gain settings. From subtle preamp coloration to wall-shaking overdrive, this pedal maintains exceptional low-frequency extension without sacrificing clarity or cohesion. Equally at home on bass or guitar, it excels in noise rock, post-hardcore, and experimental textures.
At lower gain settings, the Greathammer provides a bold, articulate preamp voice with exceptional clarity and low-end authority. Increase the gain and it transforms into a harmonically rich, crushing drive with enormous depth and texture. The Attack control shapes pick response and upper frequencies for tonal flexibility, while the 3-position Notch switch offers multiple midrange voices from flat and punchy to deeply scooped. Use it as a front-end overdrive or dedicated preamp—the Greathammer adapts to your signal chain and playing style.
