A truly beautiful example of a transitional year 1966 Fender Jaguar. This guitar features the transitional decal as well as a more rare pearl dots and binding neck and of course it's in custom Fender finish Candy Apple Red. The finish is naturally worn down to the point that you can see the clear coat and Gold paint under the Red finish. Some bare wood is showing as well. The spots you see are mostly metallic flakes dispersed over years of gracefully ageing. This guitar features a great feeling medium C neck that is worn down to the bare wood, for a super comfortable non-sticky feel. This is not a ridiculously thin neck either. It measures .82" to .95" from the first to 12th frets and gradually gets larger after the 12th fret. The frets have minimal wear and the action is low. You can play this one right out of the case. In 66 Fender was still using thin frets but taller ones as well. Strung with 10's this Jaguar is a joy to experience. The Vibrato with vintage Mustang bridge work tremendously well. It is a very responsive vintage Fender Vibrato unit. The original bridge is in the case. One saddle may be a replacement, yet it still looks vintage. There's just not as much wear on the one saddle. This beauty has impressive sounding original pickups that are full of fat twang and the neck pickup is full with that classic Fender chime sort of like a great Strat pup with more bass. Both the High Pass Filter and Low Pass filter circuits work nicely, though the LPF switch may need a swapping in the near future, as many of these old DPTT switches stop making good contact over time. Original case is missing the Fender badge. Wiring appears to be all original. This is a nice one that somebody will enjoy for another lifetime. Perfect Offset weight at 8lbs 5.3oz. Full of life with plenty of vintage mojo and vibe. The but end reads Feb 66 B.
