Available is a truly stunning, remarkably clean one owner 1966 Fender Jazzmaster in 3-Tone Sunburst. This collector grade example shows minimal use and has spent the past 50 years in its case. It comes in its original and clean 1960βs black tolex Fender HSC with loads of vintage case candy. This includes two vintage Fender straps, bridge cover, vintage strings in their original packaging, 60βs Dunlop string winder, 60βs USA made capo, vintage Fender picks and pick holder as well as 60βs polishing cloth.
This guitar is in completely original condition showing hardly any signs of use. The playability is beautiful and the neck is nice and strait; currently setup with alow action of only 4/64ths of an inch E to E at the 12th fret. The binding is also completely intact.
This gem features many desirable transitional era appointment such as the transitional Fender decal, Kluson tuners, full nitro finish with hardly any finish wear or checking (looks like a two year old guitar!) This example also features an incredible tortoise nitrate guard with no cracks (later in 1966 Fender switched to a cheap plastic tort pickguard material. You also have the rare pearl dot and bound neck seen only for a finite time between late1965 and part of 1966 before CBS fully took over Leo Fenders operation.
As mentioned this guitar is completely original. This includes its grey bobbin pickups and electronics which all date to 1966. It features cloth wiring and has its original brass shielding plate fully intact w/ all original solder joints.
Tonally the grey bobbin pickups sound healthy and robust played both clean or with some gain.
A rare one owner gem thatβs ready for another 57 years of use.
