It's not everyday that you come across a luthier with such a clear cut vision and the skills to pull it all together. Scott Heatley lives and breaths guitars and is always finding new ways to innovate and further improve his designs.
This variation on the Heatley Parisienne has a Mahogany body with a set Flame Maple neck. The guitar is adorned with tortoise body binding and white purfling as well as Scott's MOP "piano key" style fingerboard inlays which also double as side markers. You'll find the theme of handmade tortoise appointments throughout the entirety of this build; from the pickguard to the pickup covers and even the faceplate / headstock veneer. Each and every one of these unique parts was hand fabricated by Scott Heatley himself.
This Parisienne is an astonishing build and one of the finest instruments new or vintage that we've had the privilege of playing. It has a very full EQ response with great clarity, note separation and sustain. Due to the Mahogany body and dual P-90's, the mid-range is front and center like with a great vintage Les Paul Jr. The Walnut top brightens up the tone as Maple does on a Les Paul. The Maple neck also adds a bit of punch and liveliness to the guitars tone. This particular example is very balanced and of a nice weight of 7lbs 1oz
The Mean and Meaner P-90 pickups by Wolftone are an excellent choice for this guitar. They deliver everything you would expect inside of a set-neck, single-cut guitar of this style. You'd be hard pressed to find a genre of music that the Parisienne doesn't excel in. We absolutely love the wood choices for this guitar as well. The Botogne Walnut top and figured Maple neck are both of superior quality. This is one of those guitars that you just won't want to put down. From its complex voice to the ease of playability, this Heatley seems to have it all.
Overall in excellent + condition (could pass as new). The guitar has just received a pro setup with 10-46 gauge NYXL strings.
