This is the third Anzol that we have had the pleasure of offering since beginningto represent the awesome work of Luthier Nic Delisle of Island InstrumentManufacture, in our NY based boutique guitar shop. Each one of these guitarshas been superb in playability, feel, workmanship and tone. This guitar inparticular being our favorite Anzol so far; due to it's new sleeker bridge designand more recognizable classic Tele bridge pickup bite. This is impart due tothe lead pickup being moved up towards the bridge ever so slightly from pastmodels.The Anzol features a compact yet extremely comfortable body design, though thisguitar is not a short-scale instrument in the least. The scale length measures25", which is in between both the average Fullerton and Kalamazoo scalelengths that we are all accustomed to, while leaning more towards theFullerton side of things.
This instrument delivers such a rich and distinct set
of tones, between the Mojo Pickups Foil Sonic in the neck position and Tele pickup in the bridge position. The Foil Sonic clean can sound airy and almost acoustic-like. It is very responsive to pick
attack as well. While clean it can be warm, airy and articulate, but when pushed into overdrive it is rich and biting while still maintaining great note separation depending on how
you pick or where you have the very usable tone control set. The bridge
position delivers classic Tele spank, but without the overly bright,
brittle or harsh overtones found on many guitars of that style. With the Tele bridge
pickup not surrounded by the typical large magnetic plate (like most T-Style guitars have as a bridge) the tone is more mild yet still an iconic sound. The middle position mixes these two pickups in a very pleasing way. Great for all styles of music, with all the airiness of the neck pup mixed with the spank of the bridge pickup; it sounds incredible with a more percussive style like finger-picking. Let this guitar become the secret weapon in your guitar arsenal at the gig or in the studio. The portability of this guitar is a major bonus as well and it weighs in at only 5lbs 2.6oz.
