Handcrafted in Costa Mesa, California, this Lelah Customs Model 37S captures everything special about a great S-style guitar. It feels alive in your hands, resonant and responsive, blending vintage inspiration with a refined modern voice. Built from lightweight swamp ash and finished in nitrocellulose with a tasteful medium relic process, it carries both beauty and character.
What started as a hobby quickly became a lifelong pursuit of tone and craftsmanship. After moving from Yosemite Valley to Southern California over twenty years ago, Brandon began learning the craft through books, mentorships, and countless hours of trial and error. Today, every Lelah Custom is built by hand with patience, intention, and care in his Costa Mesa shop. He has built guitars for artists such as Jedd Hughes, Adam Granduciel of The War On Drugs, Guthrie Trapp, and Ariel Posen, and has also built a guitar for pickup legend Ron Ellis, with whom he continues to collaborate closely. Ellis’s pickups are a natural fit in Brandon’s instruments, and this 37S proudly features a set of his 64S Strat pickups.
The medium C neck carve paired with a dark rosewood fingerboard gives it a smooth, familiar feel that invites you to play for hours. Those Ron Ellis 64S pickups deliver the unmistakable chime, warmth, and dynamic clarity that define great vintage tone. The Lava pickguard perfectly captures the look of old tortoise celluloid, tying the look together with subtle depth and color.
