This is one particularly nice T-Style by Mario Martin in Nashville TN. All the pieces just fell into place perfectly on this build. A terrific Black Guard. You can feel this Tele vibrating erratically in the palm of your hand, its a lively and resonant guitar to say the least. We decided to go with a Mojo PAB (Paul A Bigsy) style pickup in the neck. In the 50's this was a mod players looking for a fuller, warmer almost Archtop-like tone would use as an aftermarket neckĀ pickup for their Teles. These pickups do everything from clean Swing lines, to chordal Jazz and fingerpicking styles beautifully. However if you let the pickup overdrive your tube amp a bit or if you use a gain pedal; you will have plenty of power to get a great grungy blues tone with tons of harmonic all the way up to classic rock P-90-like tones. The Fralin Blues Special in the bridge is a medium output 50's Style Tele pickup with lots of spank and clarity without sounding the least bit harsh.Ā
This guitar weighs in at a comfortable and light 6lbs 14oz. It has a 1-Piece Swamp Ash body with great grain that can easily be seen with the lightly applied Blonde Nitro finish. The body is paired with a one-piece hand carved, 1/4" Sawn AAAA Flame Maple neck in a gloss finish. Gloss nitro is not sticky when applied properly and Mario surely does an outstanding job with this. A perfectly sanded, buffed and ultra smooth neck.Ā
