The Pignose Legendary 7-100 is one of the most iconic portable guitar amplifiers ever produced. Introduced in the early 1970s and still in production today, the 7-100 has earned a cult following among everyone from bedroom players to touring musicians and recording engineers. Its unmistakable lo-fi overdrive, compact size, and unique hinged cabinet design have made it a secret weapon in studios and on stages for decades. Artists including Frank Zappa, Joe Walsh, and Eric Clapton have all been associated with the distinctive sound of the Pignose. 

At first glance, the 7-100 appears deceptively simple. A single pig-snout volume control serves as both the power switch and gain control, allowing the amp to move from surprisingly clean tones to its signature gritty breakup. The hinged cabinet can be opened or closed to alter the character of the sound, creating everything from focused, midrange-rich tones to a more open and resonant voice. 

Despite its compact footprint, the Legendary 7-100 has become a favorite recording tool thanks to its touch sensitivity and unique natural compression. The built-in preamp output also allows the amp's characterful overdrive to be sent directly into larger amplifiers, recording interfaces, or PA systems.
