There is nothing out there quite like a Ronin in the high-end Luthier built guitar market. The Ronin team of Izzy and John has built a new line of exciting and ground-breaking designs. Everything from the feel of their guitars neck carves to their fret work, setups, extremely resonant Reclaimed Master Grade Old-Growth Redwood bodies and Ronins New Pickup designs; all culminate to create instruments that are as inspiring to play, feel and hear as they are to marvel at. Not to mention the extreme attention given to their extremely thin all Nitro finishes.
This Betty is a one of a kind build, in that it has a Ronin Foil-Bucker Mini pickup in the Neck position (a personal favorite Ronin pickup) and a Magic Button option. A bonus is that under the guard, there is a second (hidden) Foil-Bucker Mini Route. So that if you ever choose to, you can add a second Foil-Bucker Mini for three pickup/Strat-like tones. Ronin is known for their incredible pickups, so we went with a medium out-put proprietary "Ronin Broadcaster" Bridge Pickup. These pickups utilize Alnico II magnets, for classic Tele spank, without any of those harsh upper-treble frequencies, sometimes associated with Tele bridge pickups; though she can certainly Twang like nobody's business. Both pickups are very responsive to the tone control; with the Mil-Spec NOS capacitor that Izzy of Ronin uses. Other components like the pots and toggle are also of high-quality, and are made by Emerson US.
This guitar is fully hand-built, no CNC used. It is a true handcrafted Solid Old-Growth Redwood body Ronin Guitar. The neck is 1/4" Sawn Roasted Maple with an incredible feeling Med-Chunky C Neck Profile, that measures .86" at the 1st fret and .94" at the 12th fret. The setup is impeccable and this guitar plays incredibly well, with a nice low action of 3 & 4 64ths at the 12th Fret High E to Low E. This guitar plays effortlessly. It is currently setup with 9’s but can most certainly take 10's or any other string. If you’d like it shipped with a different gauge string, not a problem, just let us know. Either way it’s such an easy and responsive instrument to play . The Old-Growth Redwood Body really adds another dimension in resonance to this more "classic style" Ronin model.
The Betty model is a Top-Loading T-Style instrument, like a 59 Tele. So the strings never feel to stiff and bends are always a breeze. The bridge on this guitar is a high-end Glendale Bridge made in the USA with recessed sides, so that you don't bump into them when picking. The Saddles are Glendale's "Groovy 60's Set" Cold-Rolled Steel, Compensated Saddles. This beautiful guitar comes with a Reunion Blues Protective Gig-Bag and a COA handwritten by Ronin and stamped with hot wax. This Betty is lightweight and balanced at only 6lbs 7.5oz.
