There is nothing out there quite like a Ronin in the high-end Luthier built guitar market. The Ronin team has built a new line of exciting and ground-breaking designs. Everything from the feel of their guitars neck carves, fret work, setups, extremely resonant Master Grade Old-Growth Redwood bodies and Ronins new pickup designs like the Foil Bucker; all culminate to create instruments that are equally inspiring to play and hear as they are to marvel at. Not to mention the extreme attention given to their lightly applied finishes and revolutionary work on getting the most out of a guitars 2 pin Vibrato system, which balances perfectly using a slanted 2-spring method, on their 2-Pin Mannmade Vibrato equipped guitars like this one.
This Mirari is is part of the last Limited-Build run of guitars that Ronin will ever create again. So this is a one time opportunity. The company will unfortunately be closing their shop. (Read more on the official Ronin Guitars website) It incorporates some of the most loved and innovative Ronin features like their famous Magic Button which brings into play a specialized passive piezo pickup that sits inside of the bridge pickups cavity route. This can lead to many musical results and enhances the sounds of the very resonant Redwood body. Upon pressing it, you'll be able to enhance all the subtle nuances of the instrument. Letting you tap and play behind the nut or scratch at the springs. You can also get acoustic like tones that are blend-able with the other pickups. As you roll down your guitars volume control/controls, it becomes more present, this can lead to lap-steel, banjo, dobro and many other experimental but extremely musical sounds. We also ordered this incredible piece with Ronin's most popular and musical features, the Tornipulator System. The best way to understand this system/circuit is to experience it first hand. It can yield some very pleasing results. The only downside is that you will never want another guitar again without one installed! Yes it's that good. Here is Ronin's explanation of the Tornipulator System.Â
From Ronin Guitars.Â
"The Tornipulator was invented by David Torn and was first used in a guitar built by visionary luthier Uli Teufell. Master Luthier Saul Koll also installed his version of the Tornipulator into David's Tornado guitar. Ronin has built David three instruments, all of which have our version of the Tornipulator. While it is mostly unchanged from the other versions, the Ronin Tornipulator has its own particular wiring schematic which yields the best results for our Mirari and Morningstar models. The specialized shaker mic capsule inside the Tornipulator is activated by a momentary button that bypasses the pickups. The second button induces noise via ground lift and the third button is a kill switch."
If you are looking for an instrument which will enable you to fully express yourself and help you create your best form of musical expression; this is the guitar. Everything is built to Ronin's stringent high-end and hand-made standards. From the impeccable fret work to the custom Foil-Buckers and everything in-between, this guitar is worth every bit of it's price tag and more, for the player who is lucky enough to own it.
