The Stormcrow is a set-neck 24 3/4” scale guitar by Ronin and is as rare as they come. This one in particular is truly one of a kind and it breaths fire.Â
This guitar features Ronins new Speedster Twin-Scroll Mini Humbuckers. They sit right in-between the Foil-Bucker and Stormcrow Wound Foil-Bucker Pickups in output and tone, with the Foil Bucker being the brightest of the three and the SC- wound Foil Bucker being the darkest with the most midrange content. With the Speedsters, you get all of that beautiful Foil-Bucker clarity with some added midrange content and slightly more girth. They are extremely responsive to touch & where your volume knob is set. As you lower the volume control this guitar never looses its tonal characteristics. Perfect for cranking your tube amp & using the volume knobs to go from clean to dirty. They sound like if somebody took a vintage Lap-steel or Tele pickup, a P-90 and the best PAF on earth and jammed them all into one completely original, new sounding design. It’s a tone that could only be believed by playing and listening to this guitar in person. It’s the kind of tone that excites the senses and stands out in the mix.
This Custom Stormcrow also features Ronins famous Magic Button, which is a specialized Harp Mic/Piezo Pickup that resides beneath the Bridge Pickups cavity/route. When engaged the guitar becomes even more alive. You can hear all of the subtle nuances of the Old Growth Redwood. This is a great tool for the experimental musician who want's to be able to play the notes behind the bridge or nut or wants the guitar to sound more like an Archtop if blended with the Neck pickup or more like a Dobro when blended with the Bridge Pickup. Tapping on the body or anywhere on the guitar while the Magic Button is engaged can yield some interesting and or or rhythmic results.
This double cutaway beauty features an ultra
resonant Master Grade Old growth Redwood body and a White Limba set-neck. Another unique feature to this master Luthier built instrument is the six in a row headstock that has a clear finish over it, so you can see the White Limba wood in all its grey and white striped glory. The Stormcrow STD usually features a three plus three headstock.
The Mastery Vibrato can pull up just about a minor third using the ABM bridge, as the break-angle behind the bridge is much greater than a standard “offset style bridge” commonly used with the Mastery Vibrato.
