Starr Guitars out of Florida, is a fully custom guitar company run by Kip Elder. They have built a big name for themselves in the underground and boutique guitar scene, for their masterful finishing work. All finishes are pure Nitro and both feel and look a step above most high-end instruments out there. Starr does finish work for many high end guitar manufactures and Luthiers such as Ronin Guitars and Pensa Custom, as well as restoration work on the most sought after vintage guitars in the world.

This Strat Style by Starr has some very unique features and plays like butter. Kip works very closely with head Luthier Izzy of Ronin Guitars and the pickups in this beauty are wound by the same master pickup winder who winds the Ronin pickups, including the Foil Bucker. They are specked out by Izzy and have all the bite and snap one could want from an S-Style guitar, but with more fidelity and low end, that can easily push your tube amp into overdrive. When dialing back the tone control all that fidelity of your clean tone is maintained. The guitar has a fully hand carved body with heavy contours, while the neck is a 25" scale length, giving the strings a slinkier feel while also adding a 22nd fret. The headstock is reversed and the neck is 1 piece for added sustain and ultimate resonance, also due impart to the chunky V profile. This guitar just sings with a harmonically rich voice that is hard to come by in a new instrument. Notes leap off the fingerboard as if the guitar had a built in delay. It’s very alive & acoustically resonant. Like some early 50’s vintage Strat examples, this guitar body is slightly smaller than a std Strat, making it incredibly comfortable to play & evens everything out with the slightly shorter 25” scale. All high-end electronics and hardware listed below finish off this wonderful build. Look out for more guitars from this builder. We couldn't be more impressed with the quality of the Starr's we've received so far.Â
