Built by John Joveniaux and Serge Michiels in their Brussels workshop, this Nami Prototype is a certified one-of-one creation that showcases Tao’s visionary design, obsessive craftsmanship, and signature sense of style. Completed in August 2019, it is a fully custom instrument that feels as refined as it looks.
The body is finished in light green metallic nitro lacquer with tasteful relicing that highlights the sculpted curves of the offset silhouette. A layered pickguard design, custom rosewood control knobs, and a matching trem arm tip all speak to the level of detail that goes into every Tao build. This example is in incredible condition and plays effortlessly, with a silky smooth neck and impeccable fretwork.
The guitar features a two-piece alder body, flame maple neck, and Indian rosewood fingerboard. It is loaded with a custom set of Trancestor pickups designed by Benedetti. These are single coils with tonal DNA drawn from both Stratocasters and vintage gold foils, offering a unique blend of clarity, sweetness, and textured harmonic response.
The switching layout is thoughtfully designed. The toggle gives you bridge, bridge and neck combined, and neck pickup alone. A dedicated blend pot lets you dial in more or less of either pickup in the bridge or middle position for a wide range of tones without sacrificing simplicity.
Hardware includes a Mastery OMV-P bridge and Gotoh MGT locking tuners for solid tuning stability and a smooth playing feel.
