TLL Guitars are fully handmade in Sweden by Luthier Tobias Lindberg. Tobias's guitars are heavily influenced by the Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements of the early 1900's. Each instrument he builds is a stunning piece of functional art, with forward thinking design implementation both inside and out.
While the design is intricate, you'll notice that the Deckard still feels and sound familiar. Upon picking this guitar up, you'll instantly be been blown away by its high-end build quality, complex details and overall beauty; both aesthetically and functionally. Where it gets everyone is in its mesmerizing tone which well discuss in further detail below.
While the Deckard doesn’t necessarily look, feel or sound exactly like any particular vintage guitar of the past, you can certainly see some classic influences; this make it a real treat to the player looking for an inspirational and unique tool to express themselves on. While this is a set-neck, semi hollow guitar, it also take a few cues from a "Fullerton style" build; with its 25 1/2" scale length and 9.5" radius. The "Kalamazoo" influence certainly shows as well, with its carved semi-hollow construction, 3 pus 3 headstock and dual Humbuckers. The pickups in this TLL are made by Lundgren in Sweden. You can expect clear and articulate clarity with a subtle airy and woodiness to each note. They hold together extremely well both clean and with overdrive, never getting at all muddy. Harmonics seem to just leap off the fingerboard with a haunting acoustic presence, almost like a built in reverb effect. This is in part due to how the top is carved thinner on the sides and thicker in the middle. The sustain is also quite impressive from a non solid-body guitar. We must also point out the Duisenberg Vibrato which holds tune beautifully while being very responsive. If you prefer; this guitar can also easily be converted into a hard-tail due to the vibrato's 2-pin mounting design.
The feel of the neck is instantly inviting with it's hand rubbed oil and wax matte finish. It's smooth across the entire back of the neck which allows for fast runs and can be played for many hours in the studio or on stage without fatigue. This is a do it all instrument with its own distinct character that guitarists of all styles will appreciate. Whomever purchases this Deckard is sure to have a cherished musical companion for a lifetime.
