Meet the Jetson 2 by Uma Guitars. Uma Guitars are a Luthier duo made up of Simon and Jonas, who reside and build high-quality, forward thinking handmade electric guitars in Ghent, Belgium. Like the Jetson (single pickup) The Jetson 2 is a fully original design. Each Uma guitar is built with passion and great attention to detail. This Luthier duo certainly has an eye for design, but their instruments go beyond just the aesthetics. Like their first release, the Jetson (single pickup guitar) these guitars feature pickups by Mojo Pickups UK, 3 slide switches and an internal Piezo pickup. The first two slide switches are for Neck pickuo on/off and bridge pickup on/off. The third switch puts both pickups together in series, for a fattter Humbucker type of tone. On the Jetson 2, their is a push/pull pot on the tone control that turns on the internal Piezo/acoustic pickup. The Jetson is a set-neck design with a slightly offset body shape that sits comfortably and balanced on the player, both seated or standing with a strap. This Jetson 2 utilizes light-weight Spanish Cedar for the body and a AAA Figured Flame Maple Neck with a 25" scale. This new model incorporates a Mastery vibrato and bridge. (Black anodized aluminum on this particular guitar) The vibrato is is highly touch sensitive and very responsive. The Strat-size Gold Foil pickups are crisp, warm and twangy (think Stat meets Gold-Foil) with beautiful clarity and note to note separation. They are put into the guitar on an angle, so that the treble strings get more bass and the bass strings get more treble. The finish is Matt Nitro in Bronze. The pores of the wood are visible in all their natural glory. A truly unique and inspiring instrument in every sense.
