Meet the Jetson 2 by UMA Guitars. UMA Guitars are a luthier duo made up of Simon and Jonas who build high-quality, forward thinking handmade electric guitars in Ghent, Belgium. Like the Jetson (single pickup model) The Jetson 2 is a fully original design. Each Uma guitar is built with passion and great attention to detail. This luthier duo certainly has an eye for design, though their instruments go beyond just the aesthetics.

This Jetson 2 feature two pickups wound by UMA. They are blade style single coils that toe the line between a Charlie Christian type pickup and a Strat style pickup. We also appreciate that they have a very low noise floor. The set is clear, warm and responsive when played clean; though they are also capable of delivering a P-90 like growl when overdriven.

Versatility is the name of the game with the Jetson 2. On the anodized aluminum pickguard you’ll find three slide-switches, one for each pickup and a series / parallel switch for a fatter humbucker type of middle position tone. Below the slide-switches you have your volume and tone. The tone knob is a push-pull that turns on an internal piezo pickup (aka contact mic) in the upward position.

The Jetson 2 is a futuristic set-neck design with a slightly offset body shape that sits comfortably and balanced on the player both seated or standing. This particular build features a light-weight swamp ash body matched with a beautifully figured flame maple neck. You can expect a snappy Fullerton-like response and quick attack due to the pickups and materials. This is a very responsive and articulate instrument.

The Jetson’s scale is 25” which has become quite popular over the past few years. This scale will certainly feel familiar to players of Fender style guitars, but with a bit less tension when bending. A Mastery bridge and vibrato complete the package. The vibrato is highly touch sensitive and responsive.

This Jetson 2 has a beautiful translucent blonde finish with exposed pores. UMA is building truly unique and inspiring instruments that we look forward to seeing in more and more players hands.
