Striking, sculptural, and unmistakably Tao, this one-off Stradale “Bambi” solid body showcases the singular vision and meticulous craftsmanship of John Joveniaux and Serge Michiels. Built in Brussels in January 2025, it blends avant-garde design with old-world luthiery, resulting in an instrument that feels as refined as it looks. While the COA incorrectly lists the model as T-Bucket, this example is in fact a Stradale — Tao’s fully solid-body interpretation of their futuristic Disco Volante aesthetic.
The two-piece Spanish cedar body (tonally similar to mahogany but significantly lighter) and quartersawn Spanish cedar neck create an exceptionally resonant, lightweight platform with a warm, immediate response and strong fundamental. Paired with an ebony fingerboard, the tone balances depth and articulation beautifully, remaining clear and expressive across the entire range.
Custom TAO “Slim Ribbon” pickups deliver a unique voice that sits between a gold foil and a humbucker, offering airy openness, rich harmonics, and superb touch sensitivity. Clean tones bloom with dimension, while driven sounds stay focused and articulate. The ABM 2400 bridge paired with a Goldo LT tremolo provides smooth, stable vibrato performance while preserving sustain and clarity.
Finished in a striking Gold and Purple colorway, the sculpted body contours and minimalist hardware give the instrument a modern, almost architectural presence. Despite its bold visual identity, the Stradale is remarkably ergonomic and comfortable, feeling compact and alive in the hands.
