Here’s a gorgeous sounding and more than esthetically pleasing T-Style Coodercaster by Waterslide Guitars. From the large and comfortable Boat-neck profile with a “Snake-Head” headstock (seen on very early Fender Tele/Esquire Prototypes of the late 1940’s) and hand wound Mojo UK pickups, this guitar came out incredibly. It’s an inspiring and lightweight instrument with high attention to detail and playability given. This is one of the first Snake Head Waterslide T-Styles to be built. The Lap-steel style bridge pickup lends itself to many musical styles. It Twangs like a Tele with a slightly more scooped midrange for crystal clear clarity when clean and it becomes tremendously dynamic when overdriven. While most players with this bridge pickup may favor playing with a slide, you can still palm mute, though it takes some getting used to. I’ve demonstrated this on our Instagram page South Shore Guitar Boutique in the past as has Pat from Waterslide Guitars. When you get used to the pickup layout, it’s a truly unique instrument to develop your own voice on. Tone and Volume pots are in perfect reach for tone/volume pinky swells (think Roy Buchanan/Danny Gatton type tones) The neck pickup is a warm and almost ethereal sounding Gold-Foil that seems to respond to pick attack and overdriven tones great while still able to get nice and Jazzy depending where you set the tone control. All in all we just love these Lap Steel pickup equipped Waterslides. While in Nashville for NAMM we encountered many, many players that were using Coodercasters with this pickup-configuration as their main guitars.
